LOGAN
I was sitted at the Dark moon council meeting, discussing with the elders and as usual, the topic was about Ava. I was growing angry over their constant talking about Ava. I slammed my fist on the table, startling everyone.
“Enough!” My voice heavy but laced with command and authority. “I’ve sat here all day, listening to your gibberish talk about my mate, your Luna and I've had enough of it.”
“But Alpha?” One of the elders spoke. “We only want the betterment of the pack, we dare not speak ill about your mate, Alpha.”
A smirk tugged at my lips as I strode towards the old elder that had spoken. I forcefully took him by his collar, dragging him along and slamming his back against the wall, a low since escaped from his mouth.
“This should be your first and last time speaking when I talk, understood.” I said through gritted teeth. He nodded in agreement as I freed him, walking out of the room, my hands in my pocket.
I drew in a long smoke from the cigarette I held, letting it out. I stared at the huge community I was able to build within few years of being the Alpha.
“Smoking again, Alpha?” A deep husky voice said, coming behind me. I smiled as he stood before me.
“Ethan.” I called, embracing him into a tight brotherly hug. “Seems you just returned from your trip?”
“Not really, came back a while ago.” He replied, inhaling the air. “Heard some rumours though.”
“What rumours?” I stared back at him.
“Something about you being mated to a human.” I smiled, puffing out. “Seems rumours do go fast here, huh.”
“Is it true?” He stared right into my eyes, not blinking.
“What do you think?”
“So it's true then.” A slight chuckle escaping from his lips. “Is it the same human as Xavier?”
My brows knitted at the mention of his name. “Yes.” I replied through gritted teeth.
“Very funny.” He bursted out laughing, his eyes shimmering in the sunlight. “Very funny how to powerful Alpha's are being fated and controlled by a petty human.”
That sentence snapped within me, he had just insulted my Ava. I forcefully held him by the truth, tightening my grip. “Don’t you dare.” I growled at him.
He raised his both hands in surrender, a smile tugging at his lips. I released him, earning a cough from him.
“Protective of your mate, just as Xavier.” He said still laughing. “This is going to be fun.”
AVA
We walked into the stables and I hurriedly ran to Micha but she wasn't there. I searched around together with Ruby but we didn't find her.
“Where did she go to?” I asked, staring around.
“I’m pretty sure she was here yesterday.” Ruby replied. She ran outside and came back some seconds later. “One of the maidservant just said he went for a walk with a guard.” I sighed heavily, for a minute I thought she had left.
“So what are we gonna do, since Micha isn't here?” Ruby asked pacing around.
I thought for some few minutes before it clicked. I had registered for the archery session but never went for training once. We both went to the training field, just as usual, it was full and rowdy with warriors. I walked to the trainer as we began training. It was quite fun but stressful.
He stood behind me, positioning my leg and waist into the proper position. I felt his hot breath on my neck, then the memories from yesterday flushed in.
“Ava?” I heard and looked up, he was staring at me.
“Are you okay?”
“Uhh... Yes, sure.” I stuttered.
We continued to practice till it got late, he dismissed us. We walked back to the room, I was about to open the door when Ruby stopped me.
“You’re injured.” She said, I stared down at my foot, I didn't notice I was injured earlier. “Oh, didn't notice it.” I smiled at her.
“Wait inside, I'll go get the first aid kit from the infirmary.” She said rushing out.
I slowly walked into the room, the chilling air grazing through my skin. I strode towards the bed and sat on it. I kept myself busy with another novel, flipping through the pages. I waited for over thirty minutes but Ruby never showed up. Did she ditch me to go see someone?. I smiled at the thought of Ruby having someone. The door flew open and she strode in, giggling happily as she danced around the room, singing.
“Are you okay?” I asked, staring at her.
“I met him.” Her cheeks flustered as she fell on the bed. “I met him!”
I stared at my new best friend, smiling at her self, this was what I had imagined if I ever had a female best friend. Caleb did help most times, allowing me to apply makeup on his face, make him dance to Cardi B’s songs. We literally did everything for eachother and here I was in a supernatural world, alone. I hardly saw mom, each time I go to see her, she's either knitting or speaking to herself. I wished we could go back to our time. A time where it was just the three of us. I guess, it's already late, I've crossed the line countless times. From kissing two Alpha's to f*****g my pack Alpha. Things can't go back to the way they were.
I sighed as I turned my attention back at the happy werewolf who was giggling at herself.
“Who did you meet?” I found myself asking.
“A cute guy, he's really handsome. He seemed pretty injured though but through those injured face, I could tell he was a cutie.” I found myself laughing so hard at her words. So I was right, she had gone to see a man.
“Ruby?” I teased, earning a glare from her.
“What?”
“Nothing.” I answered, standing up on my feet. “But he smells like a human.” Her words made me stop on my track. I turned and walked closer to her. “What did you say.”
“He seems to be human.” It possibly can't be Caleb right, I mean how would he be here. But for some reason, my heart ached, I wanted to confirm it.
