An untold battle

AVA We stood at the boundary, heart racing and pounding hard. Ruby had overheard I and mom discussing about Lucas Reed when she came to see mom. I was more than excited when she offered to to help me out. “You ready?” She asked in between breaths. We had sneaked out of the pack and ran into the woods, it wasn't an easy escape as Logan had tightened the security. “Let’s do this.” I smiled at her and we crossed the boarder and into the Blackwood territory. Just like the last time, it was busy and buzzing with people, all going about their daily activity. “Hey Ruby?” I tapped her, gaining her attention. “Why is the wolf community not like the normal lively city outside the city walls.” “Hmm... Not really sure but I think it has to do with the humans not accepting us. You can use yourself as an example, how would you feel if a werewolf comes into your home all of a sudden?” She grinned widely as she sneakily took an apple from a woman's basket. I glared at her as she bit into it, not caring if she got caught. “I don't think we would find him if we continue to walk together, why don't we separate?” I suggested. “That seems better, let's meet up at the motel we went to the last time.” she supported. We bid eachother and moved to different directions. I walked into people's stalls, asking for Lucas Reed but no one seemed to know anything about him. I had a few more hours left before the sun goes down and I've been unable to find him. I took shade under a huge tree. I was thirsty and tired with no sign of Ruby. If I wasn't able to find him, I do hope that Ruby does before Logan finds out about him. XAVIER Her scent curled in the air, far but strong enough for me to perceive that she was in the territory. I followed the scent, making sure not to seem suspicious as the people would begin to ask questions as to why the Alpha was behaving crazy. I stood, transfixed, my breath hitched. Everything seemed to have faded away just the chirping of the mockingbird that sat above the tree and the sound of the whistling breeze that whizzed pass. There she sat, like a fallen angel of the moon goddess, dressed in a floral yellow dress that made her white skin glitter under the sun. Her long lashes battling against eachother as she rested her head on the tree, sleeping soundly like a new born baby. I crouched over to her, trailing my finger over her beautiful round face. “Ava.” I whispered and she wrigled herself, trying to rest well. Isaiah growled within me as it stirred up. “Mark her already.” I groaned, trying to suppress the growing wolf in me. It was trying to come out and I tried to control it. She fluttered her eyes open and looked up at me. I caught her hand as she tried to run away. She fought effortlessly under my strong grip, but I wasn't going to let go off her. Not now that I had her in my grasp. “Let go off me Xavier.” Her voice rang like a song in my ear. “Ava.” I growled, my voice coming out low but husky. “I want you.” I tried to control my actions but Isaiah was getting the best of me. I sniffed her short black shiny hair, I sniffed his scent clinging onto her. Angrily, I held her by the neck and slammed her against the tree. “Why did you go close to him, why did you let him touch you?” “You...re hu...rting me Xavier.” She wriggled as she struggled. “Can’t... breath.” “You are mine alone Ava, mine. Why would he touch you.” I gritted. “He’s my pack leader.” She said in-between breaths. I growled and raised the other hand. “Xavier.” Someone screamed my name and before I could turn to see who it was, I felt a heavy punch on my face and I fell to the floor. “Run!” the person said to Ava, I stood up and tried to run after her when I got pinned down to the floor. “Ethan.” I groaned. “You’re not yourself Xavier, get back to your f*****g senses.” He snapped at me angrily. I tried to fight him but couldn't, he was my friend and knew my weakest spot. He whispered soothing words into my ears before the darkness loomed over me. AVA With heavy breaths, I continued to run. I didn't stop to see what was happening behind me, I didn't care. I just wanted to be far away. “Mom.” I muttered in between breaths and stopped to catch my breath. I had ran a reasonable distance before stopping to rest. “So you're the Ava.” A not so tiny voice but feminine spoke. The voice was laced with command and authority. I looked up and was met with a beautiful pair of almond coloured eyes. She glared at me as my eyes met with hers, she looked older than I am. “I’m sorry, have we met before?” I asked with a raised brow. She seemed to know me but I'm quite sure I've never spoken to anyone from the Blackwood Pack. “Selene Blackwood.” She introduced, her head held high as she spoke with superiority. “What could a Dark moon wolf be looking for in a Blackwood territory?” She asked, her voice sarcastic as she looked behind her shoulders. The soldiers behind her advanced forward, I staggered back a bit. She stared at me as a smirked formed at the corner of her lips. “Don’t you think it would be nice to end everything here, Ava.” she said leaning forward. My breath hitched, I could hear the throbbing sound. I continued to go backwards as I read meaning into what had just said. She didn't want me here, I was a trouble to both packs. Her soldier continued to advance towards me, she stood, a smirk on her face as she mouthed to me. “The End.” “And just the ladies I was looking for.” A husky voice said behind me, stopping Selene's men from doing anything drastic to me. I saw the horror in Selene's eye as she stared at the being behind me, her eyes grew wide as her lips parted open. I turned and came face to face with a familiar pair of eyes. Something within me trembled, somehow, I felt my life was about to change at this moment.
