Chapter 6 - POV Charlie - Goodbye

This week has flown by and, honestly, I'm pretty much a bundle of nerves rolled up into a ball, at least on the inside. The only people who could probably tell though are Patty and Damon. Right now I'm concentrating on slamming the face of the warrior in front of me into the ground. It's my last training morning with Silver Moon and I want to give them a show, so they remember me fondly before I come back as their Beta in two years.

I slammed my fist into Jacobs' right cheek. I watched as his face vibrated off my fist, I saw him try and steady himself, but damn, my right hook is too good to be true. I smile coyly at him and attempt an uppercut punch to the gut. He manages to move his body out of the way at the last minute and roundhouse kicks my thigh. I can tell by the satisfied grin on his smug little face that he thinks he has the upper hand. I swing my leg out at his ankle and he goes down to the ground. I got on top of him and flipped him on his stomach. I heard him let out a frustrated growl and pinned his arm behind his back. I whispered in his ear "Better luck next time, Jakey". He winced a bit as I let him go and Damon called the fight. I helped Jacob up off the ground. I am a future Beta so I can't gloat too much now, can I. I'm a good sport. Fighting is definitely my element. I may not be able to do my hair all fancy like the other girls, but I can definitely throw a punch and take a hit.

"Nice job Jacob, you did well with that kick. If you just lean into it a bit more you'll leave a more lasting pain, maybe even take the opponent down to one knee. That will be your opening to complete the move with a knee to the face and take down." I can see he's upset that he lost to me, but also has pride in the compliment I gave him about his improvements. I'm not super personable with most people, but the warriors understand my talk and they respect me, so it's easier.

"Thanks, Charlie, we are certainly going to miss you around here. Sure you have to leave us with just Damon." I laughed.

"Hey, I'm better than Charlie in a fight, I can take her down." I laughed even harder at his attempt to make himself sound better. Damon definitely could take me down pretty easily one-on-one but he would have to catch me first and that is my strength. I'm nimble.

"Yes Damon, you're the best big bad Alpha, all bend knee to the almighty Alpha". He growled at first and then we all laughed. With training finished, I went to shower and went to see Patty.

I mind-linked Patty and asked where he was. At first, I received no answer, but after about five minutes, Patty finally got back to me letting me know he was in the games room, and that he had a surprise for me. I quickly showered, got ready, and went downstairs. I'm sure it was some weird family send-off thing but when I arrived, all I saw was Patty standing next to some cute she-wolf. As I walked over to them, I took note of the girl's cuteness, blonde hair, milky smooth skin, and brightest smile. Her smile was ear to ear as I approached. Before I can even say hi or make an introduction, she flings herself into my arms and wraps her arms around my body.

"I'm so happy to meet you, I'm Sarah, we are going to be best friends, and I can't wait for you to come back on holiday and see us." I did take note of her using the word "us", hm, wait, us, as in the pack or OH MY GODESS she's Patty's mate. I look over at him, as this little she-wolf is strangling me with love and he has this look of love on his face as he is watching his newly found mate befriend his best friend. I hugged her back, uh, hm, her name was Sarah, right?

'Yes dummy, her name is Sarah and you better not forget it, or I think Patty might get a bit ticked off based on how happy he looks right now.' I'm so thankful at this point that my wolf had the brain function to pay attention to the girl's name.

As I released Sarah, I gave her and Patty the biggest smile I could muster and congratulated them both. Apparently, she went in for a check-up. When she hurt her arm in the gardens helping the kitchen staff, her family had only just transferred into our pack and she had only just turned 18 last week so she hadn't met him yet with her wolf. The head kitchen Omega, sent her to the hospital to get checked out. Patty was assigned to look after her and check her out. The moment he opened the door, he was instantly engulfed by this magical smell of summer rain and flowers and knew he had found her. They marked and mated right there in the hospital room. To which I'm like, oh my goddess Sarah, what kind of beast do you bring out in my friend? I can barely get him to wear a t-shirt instead of a button up and she has him having s*x in a hospital room.

I am overjoyed that my best friend has found his person, this will make it so much easier to go off to the academy tonight knowing he has someone to spend his time and life with now. Maybe I’ll even come back to a few cute new pups, to bestow all my awesome auntyness on. I have to go and pack the car now and I know these two want some time alone, so I pull Patty aside for a moment.

"You know I love you, and I'm so happy you found each other. I also know the pack house is no place for you guys to have time alone. Take her to our sanctuary whenever needed.". At this, I can tell Patty is a bit taken back by my offer, but smiling as well, he knows we won't bring anyone else there.

"Are you sure you really won't mind, we don't let anyone go there, Charlie, that's our place, but I would really love to take her too."

"Sarah isn't just anyone, Patty, she's your other half. Of course, she's welcome. But, like just her, you're not allowed to throw random parties and have a bunch of people over or anything like that." I just laughed and winked at him and he smiled.

"I'm going to miss you so much Charlie, we will be at the car later to say bye." he gives me a big hug and turns to go to Sarah, while I turned to go pack the car.

Everyone, including the newly mated couple, came out to say goodbye to me. I give my family lots of hugs and kisses and they wish me well. Damon and Patty were the hardest to say bye to and we promised to talk often. I got into the driver's seat and started my trip to High Moon.
