CHAPTER 30Where the dirt road met Main Street, a small group of locals gathered in the first trickle of sunlight to hail the escaping assailants. As the dented pick up roared by and swerved onto the paved boulevard the four men and two women waved gleefully, shaking fists and clapping hands. With their backs turned, they did not see the charging pursuers bearing down on them in another familiar vehicle.
