2 Lena’s POV The rain started around five. At first, it was just a light patter against the windows, blending into background noise. I was sitting at the kitchen table, scrolling through my phone and picking at the remains of a sandwich. Elias was in the living room, reading something on his laptop. Thunder struck loud, making me jump. “You okay in there?” he called. “Fine. Just forgot what thunder sounds like when you’re not in a city.” He chuckled. “You’ll get used to it.” Another thunder struck , stretching out longer than the last.
