“I think Thomas Hill is not here,” Henry says.
(They have knocked and called for a while, but no one has responded,)
“Dad, I’ll look in the back of the house. Maybe there's someone in there," Belle said.
"Alright, Zeke, please go with her," Henry utters as he continues to call.
(Belle walks first, passing by the side of the house, listening for sounds that clearly show whether or not someone is in the house.)
"There is no one here," Zeke stated.
"Yes, there is! Someone is on the inside!”
“Huh? How come you're so sure?”
(Belle can't immediately respond because she's been hearing a heartbeat inside the house, but how can she tell Zeke?)
“Just a guess,”
“Let’s hope your guess is right,”
(They went back to the house and tried to open the door, but it was locked from the inside.)
