Erin couldn’t sleep. She stared up at the ceiling, lying under the covers, with the nape of her neck resting over Alaric's forearm. She carefully turned her head towards him. His eyes were closed and he breathed softly—and even though they had slept together inside a small apartment for more or less than a month, it was the first time Erin had seen him doing so up close, his upper body bare, and his hair all messed up from the night's events. Erin smiled a little. Alaric looked so comfortable—he fitted in so well with the fancy sheets and the swords and all the extravagance.
