Alaric did not know what he expected of a market in Ashen City. The ones in Aurea were in open spaces, full of fresh meat, newly harvested vegetables, and fruits. There were even stands that sold fresh juice or hot tea, and delicacies in one corner, so that the people that flocked the market every morning could get some refreshments if they wanted to. It was lively and bright, which was a perfect contrast to the market Erin brought him to. There were mostly canned items, or food in plastic. The produce occupied only one small corner, the meat were in cold containers and frozen hard, and there wasn’t even someone selling tea.
