Sebastian POV The council room was stifling. The elders’ voices droned on about rogue sightings along the eastern border. Maps were spread across the table, red markers showing patterns of attacks, arrows pointing to where the scent trails had gone cold. “We can’t ignore it anymore,” An elder said, his deep voice filling the room. “They’re growing bolder, Alpha. If we don’t act now, they’ll be at our gates within weeks.” Another elder chimed in, wringing his hands. “The people are uneasy. Farmers won’t even tend to their fields outside the barrier. Trade is slowin—” My phone buzzed and every head turned toward me. I grabbed the phone from the table and looked at the screen, frowning a bit before I spoke. “This meeting is adjourned,” I ordered.
