"Lilly, Lilly!! get your ass over here right this moment.
Mrs Green, I mean our step mother shouted for me from downstairs.
"Oh God save me. Let Ellie come home as soon as possible to save me or else they will kill me for unintentionally burning Kate dress when I was ironing it". I said to myself before rushing from my room to downstairs in fear.
They only maltreat me when my twin sister Ellie is not around. And I think they are going to use this opportunity today since Ellie went for her interview early in the morning.
"You called for me Mrs Green." I said and before I could registered anything. "SLAP!! She slapped me very hard on my face which not only burned my cheek but also caused me a severe headache at that moment.
"You filthy thing, how dare you burn Kate dress? Do you know how much it's costs?" Mrs Green shouted at me with a big scowled on her face.
" I'm so sorry Mrs Green. I'm so sorry Kate. I didn't mean to burn your dress. Believe me it was unintentional.." I said with my eyes flowing like down my cheeks like a river.
Ever since our mother's death, and our Dad married Mrs Green, we have never experienced happiness in this house ever again. Especially me, since I'm the easiest one to maltreat. I don't know how to retaliate back at them like my sister Ellie does.
They fear Ellie so much that none of them will ever raise their voice on me when Ellie is around. But now that she's not here , they choose it as their chance to hurt me. But I'm sure Ellie will surely kill them when she returns back home.
" Mom, let's burn the hand she used to burned my dress to teach her a lesson she will never forget." Kate said sharply and glared at me.
My eyes widen in horror at the idea of them burning my hand.
"You are right my darling. We really have to teach this b***h a lesson. Shes just a waste amd a pain this house." Mrs Green said and my heart was thumping like a volcano.
They don't really mean it right? They just wanna scare me right?? I couldn't hold back my tears anymore as intense fear crept in my heart.
" No! no! no! no please... please .... please. I'm really sorry. I'm really sorry for burning your dress Kate. Please don't burn my hand. I beg you in the name of God". I pleaded them but they weren't listen. It's seems my please only anguished them.
Kate brought the hot iron and gave it to her mom. Ann, who is also my strep sister helped Kate and her mother by holding me still when I tried to run.
" AAAAHHHHHH!!!! It hurts. Please stop it. It's hurt." I continue to plead with them but to no avail until Esther, another daughter of Mrs Green and also my step sister entered the room and shouted at her mother and her sisters to stop hurting me.
"MOM!!! KATE!!! ANN!! STOP IT. YOU ARE HURTING HER!!!
She shouted on top of her voice. Mrs Green together with her two daughters, Kate and Ann stopped their torture on me.
And I was really grateful that Esther came in. Though she sometimes bully me. But most of the times, she's actually neutral. She won't stop her mom or her sisters when they maltreat me and she won't maltreat me herself either .
" Are you all crazy mom? Why do you have to hurt Lilly like that?" Esther asked her mom with her eyes wide open and shocked when her eyes landed on my burned hand.
" This stupid b***h burned my dress. Mom and I were teaching her a lesson so that she won't forget and make the same mistake next time." Kate just scoffed at her sister while I stood there holding my hand in pain as I cry.
" A dress? Because of a common dress you were trying Kill her? Wait, Mom, how will you explain this to Ellie when she comes back?" Esther shouted at them.
Mrs Green and Kate together with Ann started to panic. It's was then that it's dawn upon them what they have done to me. And the kind of trouble they have brought to themselves.
"Mom, what are we going to do now? That crazy b***h Ellie is going to kill me for sure." Kate said in a panic and fearful tone.
I really wanted to laugh at the look on their faces just by the thought of twin sister Ellie, if not because I was in pain.
"You listen to me b***h. if you tell your sister that we did this to you, I will make sure to burn your whole body whenever your sister goes out. DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR!!" Mrs Green warned me in a scary tone.
I was actually sacred because I know she can do more than that.
" Ok Mrs Green. I won't tell Ellie anything. " I told simply said to her through my sobbing.
" Good then." she also said curtly.
" Come here Lilly, let me apply ointment on your wounds for you. " Esther told urged me to followed her.
" Thank you Esther. I really appreciate that you arrived on time." I thanked her wholeheartedly, in fact I was really grateful to her she arrived even though it was too late because my hand was burned already.
" Don't mention it Lilly. I'm really sorry for what my mom and stupid sisters did to you." Esther told me and I rewarded her with a small smile.
I went to my room after Esther helped me with the ointment on mu wound and cried my eyes out. I hide under my blanket as I cried. I missed our mom. I'm missing Ellie already. "Sis, please come home soon and hug me". I said to no one particularly but to myself while I continued sobbing.
The door of our room opened all of a sudden and I knew it's was my twin sister Ellie. God I missed her since she left early this morning.
Ellie and I are exactly the image of each other. The only different about us is our eye colours and our personalities.
I'm soft and illiterate while Ellie is the strongest and literate one amongst us.
We love each other so much. And she's the only person I know I can depend on.
But I can't go to her now. She will see my wounds and tears. She will know that they've hurt me. Truth be told and In fact I really wanna tell her what they did to me, but I'm scared of Mrs Green warnings. So I pretended to sleep when she came into our room. Though I know she will through me!!
