The following Monday, final exams began, starting with Nick’s class. He arrived half an hour late, an unpleasant expression on his chiseled face.
Caroline ignored him. Her stomach concerned her far more than that lazy jock.
The exam lingered forever, while Caroline swallowed hard and ate mints to suppress a few unpleasant gagging sensations. When it finally ended, she bid a relieved goodbye to her students and crossed campus to the daycare to collect Sophie for the doctor’s appointment.
