I was still talking but the other line was messy and rigged, which was a pain in the ear. Jay smacked Joen in the nape with the sound of it, if I’m right.

Yup, I was right. Jay’s got the phone now, and Joen’s murmuring something at the back.
“So what happened? Why was the water level rising?”
“A lot more complicated than I thought it would be. There’s a trench 50 meters from the coast, and at 10 meters deep, connects to a passageway that leads to the Center of the Pacific Ocean. Turns out the end of the passageway was blocked by frozen seawater in the winter, so the seawater kept coming to the coast and not being able to return to the Center”
