Claire’s POV The Rogues' growls louder, echoing from the trees, and their terrifying cries made me scared. My heart was beating really fast, and I felt lost and unsure of what to do. I was trapped and hiding wouldn't work, and running would only alert the Rogues to my direction, and it wouldn't take a minute before my scent attracted them to me. Confused and panicked on what to do next. Run, just run, my wolf whispered from within, I had no other options than to listen, as I had ignored her enough, I needed her help, my body ached, every muscle screaming in protest, but stopping wasn’t an option. If I get caught, I'm dead or even worse, the Rogues are dangerous and no woman have ever survived their torture even men died after days of deadly torture. I shouldn't have stopped because stopping made me weak and my legs felt heavy to lift but I have to gather the whole strength in me for me to save myself if I don't want to be eaten by these Rogues. The rogues were everywhere, their stench choked the air, thick and blood smell, they began sniffing and I could tell they already noticed my presence, I needed to hide, find a shelter or Something. I made up my mind to run and just run, I need to save myself, I brushed the trees and picked a stone, I threw it in the opposite direction of where I was running towards, the stone distract the rogues, immediately I noticed they had rushed to the other side, I began to run, I race without looking back until, this Pain, a sharp, burning pain exploded in my leg as my paw caught on something, a huge rock, I hit it and, I lost my balance and fell forward, letting out a loud cry of pain. My body flew through the air, flipping over before hitting the ground hard, the pain was intense, and it knocked the breath right out of my lungs. And that’s when the worst happened. I shifted back into human, pain wracked my body as my bones cracked and rearranged, my fur melted away, leaving my bare skin scraped and bruised against on the bare ground. My body felt like dead weight, unresponsive and broken. No. No, not now, “I sneered. I groaned, trying to push myself up, but my legs refused to move, tears rolled down my cheeks as I crawl on the ground, dragging myself forward with the little strength I had left in me, my nails dug into the dirt, I was scared but I had no strength in me to defend myself when the rogues eventually catch up with me. I wasn't recovering from my injuries quickly enough, the pains from the bond breaking had taken too much out of me, leaving me weak, I whispered a desperate prayer, my voice barely audible. "Moon Goddess, please help me, don't let me die like this." Just then, I heard the sound coming from the forest. I can tell the rogues have found me, and It sent a chill down my spine, and I turned my head, trying to see what was making the noise. My heart was rising and I struggled keeping my eyes fully open. As I struggled to focus, I saw dark shapes moving between the trees, then, I saw the glowing yellow eyes staring back at me. At first, I saw one pair, then another, and another, my heart racing with fear. They had caught up with me and I had nowhere to hide, three rogue wolves stepped into the moonlight, their teeth bared in hungry grins, their fur was covered with dirt and blood, their bodies lean from starvation and they looked happy when they finally surrounded me, that they begin to hit their chest happily. Another abandoned wolf for them to feast on, or even toy with. One of them shifted into a tall, scarred man with hollow cheeks and dark, his eyes obviously soulless. “Well, well,” he drawled, cracking his neck. “Looks like our little weak wolf finally tripped, “He said smiling. “It was not fun, she made it so easy for us to hunt her down, she must have been chased out of her pack for being too weak, “One of the rogues stated. I felt his words hit me really hard, I was not weak, I just got tired, I wish I could at least let them know I was not weak before they kill me. His voice was thick with amusement, and the others chuckled happily. I swallowed hard, I needed to move, I should run, but my body refused to obey me. “Are you also betraying me?" I said, hitting my weak legs angrily. The second rogue, shorter but scary, with scars running down his arms, licked his lips. “Haven’t eaten fresh meat in a while, “he said and looked at his other rogues who were waiting patiently to devour me. “Then let’s not waste time,” the first one smirked, stepping closer. "She's almost dead anyway," one of them sneered. "She is weak and obviously won't put up much of a fight, “ He stated. I clenched my teeth, trying to summon my last bit of strength. I pushed myself backward with my shaking arms, but I had nowhere to go, I was trapped with no escape route. The scarred rogue crouched low to the ground, his fingers transforming into sharp claws. His muscles tensed, ready to pounce on me. “Don’t worry, darling,” he sneered. “We’ll make this quick and painless, “he said and my eyes widened. Then he lunged. I knew it's finished now and I have no escape but I was more pained that I won't be able to revenge what Ethan and his mistress did to me, even the whole pack, I shot my eyes as I accepted my faith, I braced for the agony, but it never came, a sharp splash cut through the air. Liquid sprayed across my face, I thought it was my blood but I felt none of it ripped off. I opened my eyes and I saw it, the rogue’s eyes widened in shock. He let out a strangled gasp before his body suddenly split apart. Even with my weak body and my eyes trying to shut down but I keep trying to keep them open, even though it was half opened. A tall man stood in front of me, his eyes burning with a fierce intensity, he slowly lowered a sword covered in blood, its silver surface shining brightly. The man's black coat flapped slightly in the wind, and his boots were firmly planted in the ground. He exuded raw power, and his presence was overwhelming. The remaining rogues scared for their lives, backing away instinctively, but the man didn't back off, he grabbed the other two rogues and pierced them with his swords before splitting their parts. He came back to where I was on the ground lying restless, staring directly at me. His sharp, dark eyes locked onto mine, and for a brief moment, a look of relief flashed across his face, he bent down to where I was, and he uttered into my ears, “I have found you,” he said, his voice deep, firm. I felt relieved as my eyes shut finally.
