The Bitten One

Chapter 6

Rachel’s POV

I woke up with sweat all around me. I decided to take a shower. Once I was done I walked out and got changed. I walked to the girls room and sighed looking at them as they cuddled up.

I remember a time when me and the boys used to do that before my grandparents had gotten to my parents.

‘Rouges!’ I heard someone yell in my head.

I heard communication in the house as the boys got up. They looked ready for a fight, but saw me.

“Let me fight.” I said.

“No.” Xander and Ryder said at the same time.

“If you don’t let me fight I will go and do it anyway.” I told them.

“Jackson, stay with the girls.” Ryder muttered.

“Yes!” He whispered, yelled.

I rolled my eyes at him and walked away. The two boys shifted into their wolves as soon as we got outside.

“Ryder let me ride you. I don’t want to shift right now.” I told them.

Ryder’s wolf huffed, but allowed me to get on top of him. He ran at top speed toward where the ‘rogues’ were at.

I smelt death all around me. I rolled my eyes and decided that I won’t shift at all because I wanted to see if I was strong enough to fight a wolf in my human form.

Ryder shifted and grabbed a pair of shorts. I saw a couple women I used to know from when I did runs with the gang.

I didn’t know they were wolves. I’ve read too many books to understand they are the bad guys, but I do know that these girls are being hurt by these men.

‘I know these girls; Ryder, these men are abusing these girls.’ I linked only him.

Jackson taught me how to use the mind-link and how to block my mind from everyone. He growled softly in understanding.

“What are you doing in my land?” Ryder asked the men.

“We are looking for a girl. We are told she is here.” The leader said.

I was hiding behind my brother so they couldn’t see my face or my body.

“What is her name?” Ryder asked.

‘R-’ I was cut off from the link.

“We do not know her real name, but they call her Snake skin.” The leader said.

‘Is that you?’ I heard my brother ask in our link.

‘Yes.’ I whispered.

“Why do you want the girl?” Ryder asked.

“She has a necklace we need.” He told him.

‘Please don’t give me up! Xander, the necklace they speak of is not mine to give.’ I linked my brother.

‘Who is it then?’ He asked.

‘I do not know her real name as I’ve only met her once. She said her name is Selena.’ I linked him.

‘S-Selena? What did she look like?’ He asked.

‘She’s right there.’ I told him looking at a man and woman.

‘When did she give it to you?’ He asked me.

“A couple months ago.’ I linked him.

He cut me off and growled at the rogues.

“She will not be going with you!” The man with that lady yelled.

“Snake Skin, if you do not come out we will hurt her!” The leader yelled.

I felt anger as I knew who he was talking about. My brother tried to stop me, but I was already attacking him.

He smirked as he grabbed me from my neck, but I kneed his balls hard. He was on the ground holding himself.

“Don’t forget why they call me Snake Skin. I am Snake who sheds people's skin.” I hissed at him ready to kill him.

“They have orders to kill her if I do not return.” He told me.

I let him go and walked over to Xander who was shocked.

‘I do not know what to do. There is someone I care for that he has. I’ve tried to save her multiple times, but they always knew when I would attack. I know now why they knew. This girl was r***d and ended up having a baby from Jr or dad or one of their friends. We do not know who the child is, but I have this crave to protect them. If I kill or attack him she will die. I-I do not know what to do anymore.’ I linked only Xander.

‘Calm down and let us talk to him.’ He told me.

“We will negotiate.” Ryder said.

“We want the necklace.” The leader said, still on the ground.

I growled, but looked away from him.

“We want the girl you are using against her.” Ryder said.

‘What about the kid?’ I linked Xander.

‘Just wait.’ He hissed at me.

I sighed and looked away. I decided I would make my own deal with him. I looked into his eyes and smirked. He smirked back at me and nodded.

“I keep the kid and get the necklace and you get the girl.” He told Ryder.

“The kid and girl are a package.” Ryder said.

‘I will work for you; two runs and you can have the necklace if you give me the kid and girl.’ I linked him.

“Deal.” He said out loud.

I rolled my eyes and sighed in relief. At least someone can do a deal.

“Bring her now.” The man told his men.

‘Xander I made a deal with him, but I’m going to break it by killing them. I need someone to take the girl and kid away when I get them.’ I linked my brother.

‘WHY WOULD YOU MAKE A DEAL WITH HIM!’ He yelled in our link.

‘Do not tell Ryder, but he wouldn’t have given the kid and girl to us. I do not need your help to kill them. I just need your help to get the women and kids out of here.’ I told him.

I could feel his glare on the back of my head as I stared at the rogue in front of me. I still have my knives and guns on me.

“Snake!” The girl yelled as she saw me.

“Hey love; have they touched you?” I asked her.

She looked away from me giving me my answer. I could feel my wolf getting angry. I’m guessing it feels the same way as I do.

“The kid?” I asked the man.

“You will get him when you give me my necklace.” He told me.

“You made a deal with him. You give me the kid and girl.” I told him.

He glared at me, but nodded to his friends. They grabbed the kid, but there was a second kid. I glared harder at him as I understood what they were trying to do. The little girl looked to be four and the other one looked to be three months old.

“Come here love.” I said.

She grabbed her kids and ran to me.

“Go with my brother. Don’t worry about me. I have everything under control.” I told the girl.

She nodded and went over to my brother. She stopped for a second, but kept going. He grabbed her and started backing up slowly. I saw everyone had gotten ready for a fight, but I smirked.

“You thought I would just give up something like that?” He asked me.

I glared at him knowing where this was going.

‘If you speak about the deal I will kill your son and unborn daughter.’ I linked him.

He glared at me as we had a stare down. I felt my body walking toward him as my wolf took control.

‘Do not shift!’ I yelled at her.

‘I know!’ She yelled back.

I kept glaring at the man until I was at least three feet from him.

“You can’t use those girls against me even if you wanted to. Remember I am a Snake.” I told him in a whisper.

I grabbed onto my knife and slit his throat. His men all attacked me at once, but they kept going down one by one. They were all getting sliced up by me.

I felt blood all over me. I kept smirking as I loved this feeling of killing these people.

“Just like old times.” I told a boy who was standing in the back.

“You’ve killed my uncle and now you want to kill me.” He said.

“Your uncle was a bad man who hurt a friend of mine. He also hurt all these girls. Like I told him I’m a Snake at heart and never allow people to harm those who cannot fight back.” I told him.

He rolled his eyes and nodded his head.

“How long till she has the child?” I asked.

“Four months.” He told me.

“Thanks for the intel. I will let Alpha Ryder deal with you as you are on his land.” I said and walked away.

I saw everyone's mouth open in shock that I just killed close to hundred rogues without shifting.

“I’ve gone up against them in the past so it was easy to kill them.” I muttered to them.

“W-What?” Ryder asked.

“Don’t look shocked that I can kill these people. Besides, they were bad people.” I muttered.

I noticed that my brother was still there with the girl and her kids. I walked over to the girl and pulled her in for a hug.

“I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you like I promised.” I told her.

She just broke down crying as she knew she was finally free. She ended up passing out in my arms so I quickly grabbed her baby and her daughter on the ground as my brother had grabbed her before she fell down.

“I need to change and put her down with her kids. Is she allowed to be here?” I asked Ryder.

“Yes.” He told me.

I nodded my head and walked toward the house with my brother.

An hour later we made it home. I took her to my room and told my brother to grab me some of his clothes for us. I didn’t have clothes as I always used money for the girls.

I washed the baby up and put a diaper on him as my brother brought it and laid him on the bed. Then I showered the little girl who I’m protective of.

She ended up falling asleep in the tub so I took her out and changed her putting her in the bed with her brother. I grabbed my friend and bathed her then put on her clothes. Next I showered and changed myself.

‘Rachel, can you come to my room and talk to us?’ Xander asked.

I sighed and walked out of my room and down the hall toward Xander’s room. Before I made it to his room I checked on the sleeping girls since it wasn’t even seven yet.

“Here.” I muttered.

“Tell us everything.” Xander told me.

“I met her when our father brought her home with a couple men. They each had used her until they were all satisfied. When they were done with her they sent her to me. I made sure she was bathed and told her not to make a fuss. The kids were six when she had come to live with us for a little bit. After two months of using and abusing her they sent her off to this man; who I killed; and got money for her. She was just a toy for everyone, but a close friend told me that she was pregnant and they didn’t know whose child it could be. I made a promise to her to always protect her, but I couldn’t save her from them because they always knew when I was close by. They used to try to hurt me, but when they noticed I wouldn’t make a sound they ended up hurting her. I stopped trying to save her for a couple months, but I found out they were hurting her to get to me. She has been through hell. And for the reason they call me Snake Skin is because I always skin people alive. For the snake part I am loyal to those who are loyal to me, but if someone betrays me I turn on them and hurt them the way they hurt me.” I explained.

Before they could talk I decided to tell them the other things.

“If I didn’t try to save her she would have had more than that little girl and boy. Her blood is special to them for some reason. They are trying to make an army of powerful beings. She once told me that if she ever has a kid they will be dangerous. Now I have an idea why, but I’m not too sure if I’m right. If anyone ever finds her they will use her against everyone and especially me.” I said.

“Why you?” Jackson asked.

“Everyone wants the beauty they call Snake Skin.” Xander muttered.

I nodded and sighed.

“They want to use me like they used her for my beauty, but I will die before they get the chance. What you saw out there was only half of what I can do.” I told them.

“You’ve killed before?” Xander asked me.

“Because I was forced to in order to survive. I didn’t want to kill anyone, but I still did it so I could live. What you saw today was my revenge.” I whispered.

“You don’t have to kill anymore.” He told me.

I looked away from him and sighed.

“That look in your eyes as you killed them was scary.” Ryder said.

“The look in my eyes was of me liking the feeling of killing those who’ve harmed my friends and family. The last guy who I spared was a spy for me so he could take over his uncle’s business when the time was right. I didn’t think that one day I would be now.” I told him, not looking into his eyes.

“Why did you like it though? They are still humans.” He told me.

“They are humans, but at the end of the day they are the ones who have r***d and abusied women every single day. They just got what they deserve.” I said.

I could feel his gaze on the side of my face.

“You can hate me all you want, but I did what I had to do. If I didn’t kill them then they would get into our family and hurt every single woman that we love. I don’t want to bring that on you.” I told him and went to walk out.

“You could have told me.” He told me as I got to the door.

“You’re the one who blocked me out. I had to do what I thought was right. I would have rather you knew my plan, but you’re the one who didn’t want to talk to me.” I told him and walked out.

‘Don’t be mad at him.’ My wolf told me.

I rolled my eyes and went to lay down with the girls as they were still asleep and we were skipping school today.
