The Bitten One

Chapter 8

Rachel’s POV

I wanted to know everything and I knew they were following me from the start. They weren’t exactly sneaky.

“Also before you do start I will teach you how to sneak around so you can sneak up on your Alpha while I’m gone.” I said, smirking.

I noticed how Ryder kept scowling when I would talk about how I am leaving, but they don’t know that I have to leave or they would be in even more danger. If I have to leave the girls here and send money to them every week I would.

“Really?” Jackson asked excitedly.

“Of course now start before I get mad at you.” I told him bluffing.

“Well you see; we have mates and it can be any species and usually Alpha’s have Alpha mates or stronger mates. Ryder had gone out one day in the ‘human world’ as we called it and scented out his mate which turned out to be you.” He said, taking a pause looking at me.

I nodded allowing him to go on.

“We ended up trailing you for months. Of course your brother had to take care of our pack as third in command so he didn’t know it was you that we were trailing and since he never went back to scent you out he didn’t know your scent. He was scared that he would kill you or his wolf would try to change you to be closer to him so we were the only ones trailing you. Of course he showed us pictures of you, but we didn’t think while we were trailing you. We could hear people calling you different names so we didn’t know what your real name was. I came up with Angel when I found out nobody was calling you that and he came up-” I cut him off.

“Off topic.” I muttered.

“So as we trailed after you, we found out a lot about you. Including the way you were treated at home, but we couldn’t get involve in humans lives unless we needed to so in order to get you a safe place we decided to start planning how we would get you out of there with your sister’s and take you somewhere safe then explain everything to you, but our plans changed when we saw you getting beat down. I saw how you held your hands up like you were forcing someone back to save you.” He told me.

I sighed and looked away.

“I knew you were trailing me so I decided to make sure you wouldn’t get hurt because those people who were hurting me weren’t your normal drug dealer gang.” I told him.

He looked like he wanted to ask more, but Xander glared at me knowing who they were. We were connected one way or another.

“Anyways Ryder bit you so we could save your life and turn you into a wolf. He had to be away from you in order for you to wake up because when a bitten wolf is close to the one who bit them they feel like they are safe and comfortable. We waited for you to wake up; but when you woke up it was only two hours that you were bitten. Usually it takes a bitten wolf about a week to two weeks before they wake up.” He told me.

“What does that have to do with me?” I asked.

“That’s what I’m getting to.” He told me.

“Well hurry up!” I exaggerated.

“Anyways since you woke up early we didn’t know what to do, but you asked to go home so as the Luna was giving me an order I had to listen to you. I took you home, but stayed outside your house in case I needed to break down the door and grab you and your sisters’. Ryder followed us in his car and wouldn’t let me go in alone when we heard a growl and you left your barrier down so we had heard everything you were thinking. Before we could help you; you killed them easily and were close to shifting.” He explained.

He paused looking at Ryder who sighed and nodded his head.

“So while Ryder was trying to get the girls peacefully I was trying to make you trust me and give me the girls, but I didn’t think and forgot when a wolf comes forward they are savages and will protect their family at all cost which ended up making her come out faster. Now it was a bad shift, but your next shift will hurt.” He told me.

“Stop pausing.” I told him.

He looked at Xander as he was trying to get help for this next part.

“Well I helped you with everything and Ryder did some things. We came home and my-Ryder’s parents came here when you were asleep a few hours ago. They are the ones who bit your brother.” He said, taking a pause again.

I was getting really tired with these pauses! I’m guessing my brother saw it because he stepped in.

“Well; because they had bit me they had to look up some things in order to understand the bitten rules. They ended up coming above something that nobody knew could ever exist.” Xander told me and sighed.

“So?” I asked.

“Well honey; we came over a page about The Bitten One and it’s how they would have a mate and a protector out there because it is highly dangerous to be out of the protection of your pack because you can make everything good or bad for everyone in the world. Your children if you have any in the future will be powerful. You are a blessing from the moon goddess, but a curse from the sun goddess. You are like my son a Lycan, but you are a hybrid too meaning you are a wolf and vampire. Your wolf can change into a full wolf whenever you want along with being able to change into half of a wolf. For your vampire side we do not know about that and since you are a vampire you will have a vampire protector. We are on good terms with the Vampire Queen and King so we will be taking you to them to find your protector, but you cannot leave here unless you want to be used to make an army. Your wolf is white correct?” The lady asked.

“Yes ma’am.” I said.

I still have my manners even though right now I just want to kill everyone here.

“Well that is going to be worse.” Her husband muttered.

“I’m sorry I didn’t get your names.” I said kindly.

“Heather and Carson.” The lady told me.

“But you-” I cut the man off.

“What do you mean it’s going to be worse; Alpha Carson?” I asked.

“Well since you’re a white wolf you can be taken by any wolf until you are mated. You cannot shift in front of anyone unless you are mated to my son.” He told me.

“Who said I was going to mate with him? I already told your son that it is impossible for me to love someone after being hurt so many times.” I told him.

“Well then it will be dangerous for you as everyone wants a white wolf to be their mate so they can have strong pups.” He told me.

“I’ve gone through worse. I almost died and would have died if your son didn’t bite me when they left.” I said.

“That was a good thing my son was with you because you could have died like you said.” He told me.

“You know the funny thing is we’ve done this before.” I said, smirking.

“What?” He asked.

“Me and my gang. I was about fourteen and the older generation wanted to see if I would spill the beans as it was tradition for fourteen year olds to snitch on our family, but I was close to death and didn’t say a word. I already had the girls under protection so they wouldn’t have to stay with my parents.” I said laughing.

“So we didn’t need to save you?” Jackson asked.

“Oh no you did because they had beaten me worse this time.” I told him softly.

I noticed I talked to him softly, but the others like they were my gang family. I didn’t mean to, but it was how I was programmed.

“So will you stay?” Heather asked.

“Do I even have a choice?” I asked sourly.

“Not really.” She whispered.

“Then you got your answer. Alexander you will be putting the girls to sleep with no bribe and tomorrow you have them for the whole day. If you f**k up I will know. This is your last chance. I need to be somewhere tomorrow.” I said and walked away.

I stopped at the doorway and turned back to everyone who was sitting down.

“Oh before I forget, training starts at four in the morning as I will be helping Jackson with his work.” I said and walked upstairs.

I walked into my room and sighed. I still had my door open so I could hear the girls as they played.

“Girls bed time.” Xander said.

“NO!” They yelled.

“Girls.” He warned.

“What?” Maddy asked.

“Get to bed now or you will be in trouble.” He told them.

“Where’s sissy?” Milly asked.

I sighed and grabbed their bears they left in my room and walked over to the room.

“She is really tired and cannot come here right now. She needs time to herself as she has gone overdrive already. Can you please go to bed for her?” He asked them.

“Okay.” They whispered.

I put their bears outside their door and went back to my room and closed their door.

“Can you get our bears from sissy’s room?” Maddy asked softly.

“Sure.” Xander whispered and walked out of their room.

“Thanks.” He whispered.

“You're welcome.” I muttered knowing he would hear me.

I closed my eyes and sighed as I allowed the darkness in.
