Chapter 10

Rachel’s POV

I had given the girls to Xander an hour ago, but he looked a little lost. Right now I’m at the mall looking for clothes. When I was done with the first shop I walked out and found the food court. I grabbed my food and a drink then sat down.

“Why couldn’t we meet at the park like we always do?” A female asked.

“Because I’m no longer in the gang and I’m living in the woods now with my brother.” I told her.

“How are you going to get information now?” She asked.

“I won’t. They almost killed me if it weren’t for my brother’s friends keeping tabs on me.” I told her.

“Is it ready then?” She asked.

“Yes. Everything is in here.” I told her, patting an envelope that I sat on the table.

“Nobody will know.” She told me.

“I meant what I said when we started this. I will hurt you if they come for my family. Wait a couple minutes because I think someone is following me.” I told her.

“Okay; also my boss wants to meet.” She told me.

“Not going to happen. I’m out of this life. This was the last thing I will do for anybody as I’ve been betrayed by my own family. Also do not be around when the cops attack my family. I told them that my brother wanted me dead and used them so they are going after them. I do not know when, but they are going to be in jail soon. You can attack then, but no sooner. Goodbye forever.” I said and got up grabbing all my bags.

I walked out of the mall and went to my truck as I have been using this vehicle. I smiled as I saw cops swarming the mall. I quickly left the mall parking lot and went home.

I smiled as I got out of the truck and grabbed my bags from the back. I took it inside and went to my room. I put my things down and went to find Jackson so we can have alone time.

‘Jackson?’ I linked him, but it was closed off.

“Jackson?” I asked out loud.

I couldn’t find him so I decided to look for Xander.

‘Xander?’ I asked in our link.

‘Yeah?’ He asked.

‘Are you still out with the girls?’ I asked him.

‘Yes we can’t leave the mall since the cops are here looking for someone.’ He told me.

‘Okay, just checking.’ I told him.

‘Ryder?’ I linked the last person who will know where he was.

‘What’s wrong?’ He asked me.

‘Where’s Jackson I wanted to ask him if he could help me with something.’ I told him.

‘Come to his room.’ He told me.

I closed off the link and walked to his room. I smelt Ryder, Jackson, and their parents, but I smelt medicine. I quickly opened the door and gasped.

“W-What happened to him?” I asked.

My wolf was going crazy to protect him, but I held her back.

“He fainted.” Ryder told me.

“Why did he faint? I didn’t even hit him once.” I said.

“It’s not because of the fight. It’s because something happened when he was a kid and we think something else is going on now.” He told me.

“Do not be vague with me. Tell me what the f**k is going on!” I growled.

My wolf was coming out and it wasn’t good because I felt all this bad energy around me.

“Calm down please.” He begged.

“Tell me what is going on with my brother!” My wolf growled.

I froze as I listened to what my wolf said. Did she just?

“Rachel!” Jackson yelled as he got up.

I ran over to him and hugged him tightly. I don’t know why, but I felt safe in his arms and like nobody could ever take me away.

“Y-Your wolf came out.” Ryder told me.

I nodded looking down at my lap.

“She said something.” Heather said.

“I do not know what that means.” I muttered.

“Would you take a DNA test if asked?” She asked.

“With who?” I asked, confused.

This isn’t good!

“Jackson.” She whispered.

Then Xander will find out that I wasn’t his sister and it will hurt him! I cannot hurt Xander, but what if Jackson was my brother? My dad ended up slipping up once when I was a kid and told me that was kidnapped from a powerful family and will never be able to see them again.

I was an unwanted little woofless little girl. I never understood what he meant but now I’m putting everything together.

“No.” I said.

“We need to find out.” Jackson told me.

“I am Xander’s little sister. How can I be related to you?” I asked him.

“You can’t lie and say you don’t have a connection to me.” He told me.

“Because you’re the first person who treated me like I was someone who didn’t need to be beaten or used in any way.” I told him.

“What’s going on here?” Xander asked, coming in with both girls clinging to him.

“N-” I was cut off.

“We need to do a DNA test with all of you.” Ryder told him.

“Why?” Xander asked.

“We believe your sister might not be related to you.” He told him.

“W-What?” Xander asked.

“X-” I was cut off again.

“What do you mean she might not be related to me? My mother gave birth to her and I was there to see her bring her home. I was waiting for my baby sister.” Xander said.

“Xander! I am your sister.” I said quickly.

“Well you won’t be scared to do a DNA test for us.” Rdyer’s dad said.

I looked away and sighed.

“I know I am his sister. I will not do something like this.” I said softly.

“Then we have to believe you know something.” Heather said.

“Rachel, is this true?” Xander asked.

“Xander, you have to believe me.” I cut myself off and sighed.

“Fine, you know what? Since everyone wants to know the truth I was kidnapped from my dead parents who were killed by some gang leader who wanted me, but he had to wait until I came of age so he sent me to your parents. Your father slipped up and told me I was kidnapped.” I said.

“Let’s do a DNA test because I don’t believe you.” Xander said.

“FINE!” I yelled and walked out of the room.

I slammed my bedroom door closed as I didn’t know what to do anymore. I sighed as I had to come up with something.

‘Don’t fight this.’ My wolf told me.

‘Xander will be hurt if I don’t.’ I told her.

‘He is still our brother as we were raised with him, but now you might have someone else who’s been by your side since you’ve shifted. He’s been here while Xander’s been f*****g other girls.’ She told me.

‘Okay, but I want to find out with just me and Jackson alone. If we are siblings I want to tell Xander alone.’ I told her.

‘Okay we will do it that way.’ She told me.

‘Jackson?’ I linked him.

‘Yes?’ He asked softly.

‘I will do the DNA test, but we will do it on our own. We can’t tell Xander anything until we find out so tomorrow we should go into town. I know a couple people who can find out if we are related. They will keep our secret to themselves unless they want to die, but you might see a side you won’t like if we do this.’ I told him.

‘Deal. I will not look at you any different. We will do it tomorrow. When do you want to go?’ He asked.

‘I need to call some favors in so I will get back to you.’ I told him.

‘Okay.’ He whispered.

I closed off the link and sighed. I pulled out a phone I only used if I were to do a job and it sucked because I haven’t done one in over a year now.

“Hello?” A lady answered.

“Can I speak to your boss?” I asked.

“He’s in a meeting.” She told me.

“Tell him it's Snake who needs to speak to him.” I told her.

“Five seconds.” She told me.

I knew she put me on hold so I sighed and locked my door and walked to the restroom and closed the door and locked it and turned on the sink water along with the tube and shower.

“Hello?” A male asked.

“I need a favor and I will do two runs.” I told him.

“Depends on the favor.” He told me.

“I met this boy who I look like and he wants to get a DNA test to see if we are siblings.” I told him.

“Meet me at four in the morning and I will get it done. Afterwards you will stay back while he goes back home and you will be doing three jobs right then and there.” He told me.

“Deal.” I told him.

“Oh and Snake.” He said.

“Yes?” I asked.

“This is the last time I’m doing a favor for you.” He told me.

“I know.” I whispered.

He muttered something to the lady who answered my phone and hung up. I turned off all the water and looked at the door. I walked out and saw my door was opened with Xander standing right there at the door.

“Who were you speaking to?” He asked me.

“Does it matter?” I asked.

“When are you going to do the DNA test?” He asked me.

“I’m thinking about next week after my birthday.” I told him.

“Okay.” He whispered.

“Xander, if I am not your bio sister we are still siblings.” I told him.

“No we aren’t.” He whispered.

“I was raised with you. Even if I don’t trust you right now you are still my older brother. I am just going to gain another brother. I will always love you like a sister should. You will always be my big brother in my heart no matter what.” I told him.

He didn’t say anything as he walked out.

‘Give him time.’ Jackson linked me.

I sighed and looked away from the doorway.

‘Be ready by two. Training is canceled for tomorrow morning. Let everyone know. Also you will be taking your own vehicle as I will be staying back to talk to my friends.’ I told him.

‘Okay.’ He muttered in the link.

‘Jackson whatever you see me doing; please do not tell anyone espelly Ryder. Before I cut the link; can a mate feel what the other mate does? Like for example kissing?’ I asked.

‘Yes he will feel it and it will feel he is burning up from the inside out and like he cannot breathe or live anymore.’ He told me.

‘What if it is against my will?’ I asked.

‘We do not know. From what we’ve heard it’s the same feeling.’ He told me.

I sighed and cut the link off.

“f**k!” I cursed knowing I was about to hurt someone I might care about.

I sighed and got up. I decided to go talk to Ryder myself as if I didn’t do what I’m going to be forced to do tomorrow I will be killed.

“Ryder?” I asked, going into his room.

“Look, I told you we were just a fling.” I heard Ryder say.

“But we were supposed to be married by the end of next month.” A girl said.

“I have a mate and so do you.” Ryder said.

“But we don’t love our mates.” She whispered.

“We have to do this in order to have pups and to have a strong pack.” Ryder muttered.

“So why don’t just tell her that I’m the one you love and will be with while she is just for show so the pack and everyone else thinks we are untied.” The girl said.

I rolled my eyes and walked in even more into his room.

“What if I say I do not want to be the side hoe?” I asked coldly.

“Rachel!” Ryder yelled, standing up and dropping his skank.

“I came to tell you something, but it looks like you got a side hoe.” I said.

“W-What are you doing here?” He asked me.

“I need to tell you something. I- Actually make her leave.” I said.

They went to reject that idea, but I smirked evilly.

“You’ve seen what I can do to your top warrior with half of my strength. Don’t make me use all of my-” I was cut off.

“She’s leaving.” Ryder said.

His skank scoffed, but did as told. I watched until she was gone then I closed his door.

“Tonight I’m going to get the DNA test done with Jackson at a friend's clinic, but in order for me to do it with them I have to do some jobs. I was going to tell you it wasn’t going to be me wanting it as it is always against my will, but I clearly see you don’t care. If you start feeling a burning sensation it is probably because I’m forced to kiss someone or getting r***d. I don’t want Xander to know until me and Jackson find out, but I came here to tell you what I was going to go through as I’m actually thinking about you, but clearly you aren’t thinking of me. I will be gone all night and possibly in the morning so if I come home late or in the morning do not worry about me.” I said and walked out of his room.

‘Let him explain!’ My wolf yelled.

‘You are naive to think anyone can care for me. You on the other hand can have more than one person to care for you. I am not loveable and you will see it one day. Your soul picked the wrong person to ever be connected with.’ I told her.

“What are you talking about?” Jackson asked from behind me.

I closed my eyes and sighed.

“Jackson, if you're my brother or cousin or whoever you think I am then I will stay with the girls, but if we aren’t I will be leaving. I will not be a pawn in your Alpha’s scheme to fool your pack and other people.” I told him, with a sad smile.

‘What are you planning?’ My wolf asked me.

I shut her out as I’ve been learning how to do it the past couple hours.

“No; what about Xander?” He asked.

“Xander made his choice a long time ago about what he wanted to be in my life and the girls. The girls do not know him as their brother; I’ve told them he was just my friend and if anyone tells them otherwise they are lying.” I told him.

He sighed and nodded.

“Rest you’re going to need.” I told him.

He nodded and walked to his room. I sighed and went to the girls room to see Xander reading them a book.

“Do you know who I am?” Xander asked.

“Your sissy’s friend.” Maddy said.

“N-” I growled softly so he would only hear it.

“I’m not telling them the truth until you prove your trust to us.” I whispered.

“Yes I’m your sissy’s friend and so close that we grew up together like brother and sister.” He told them.

“So does that mean you're our brother?” Milly asked.

“No baby. Not yet.” He whispered.

I knew they didn’t hear the last part as they were already asleep.

“Xander I need you to not be f*****g a skank tonight. I’m going out and won’t be back until late so you need to be up listening to what they do because they get nightmares. I’m not sure if you're a light sleeper, but you need to be for just this night.” I said and walked away.

I laid down and fell asleep after I put my alarm clock on.
