♕ A N T O N I A P O V ♕ "Are you crazy?!!" Bro yelled out, "you are crazy! You are putting a Hulk with a small girl in the same room. If anything happ-" "Chillax! Nothing is going to happen to her at all. I can assure you," I soothed him. "Funny, but I still think this is a stupid idea," he muttered, crossing his arms over his chest, grumbling about how his precious daughter's life is at risk, "when do you want Noor to show up?" He can play such a drama king. "Oh, you can leave her here. She can sleep with me. I only sleep in my room alone," I waved off. "Who is sleeping with who?" Noor asked, walking in. "How would you like to stay the night and sleep with me since you know I am like the only woman in this house?" I explained. "It's fine with me. What about mom and dad?" she asked, turning toward her parent, asking for their permission. "Oh, they already said it was okay. So it's settled then," I spoke, clapping my hands in excitement. "Yeah! It is going to be super fun! We can stay up all night and read scary stories," she clapped her hand in excitement. "About scary stories, I am not so sure," I giggled nervously. When it comes to scary stories or movies, you can count me out. They scare the heck out of me. "Aww! It's okay, but you wouldn't mind if I go to your library and read books?" She asked as her eyes filled with hope for me to say no. "No! Not at all. Go ahead," I smiled at her cuteness. "Thank you! Thank you!" She hugged me. "Your welcome," I smiled at her happiness. "This girl is crazy about books. Anyway, we have to go. If you need anything, please call me and let me know," bro hugged me. "On the way out, can you please talk to Omar. Please," I kissed his cheek. "Yeah, sure," he smiled. "Allah hafiz," I hugged Amina. "Allah hafiz. Take good care of yourself," she waved as she walked toward the door. I watch them walk out the door. Closing the door, I let out a sigh. I walked up to the office that I have in my house and dialed Emily's number. 'Hello?' she asked, breathing hard. Oh lord, don't tell me they are doing what I think they are. 'Looks like I called at the wrong time. You sound like you are busy,' I stated. 'No. no-' 'Whoever you are that is calling right now, please call back later. We are currently busy. If you have a message, please leave the message after the beep. Beep,' Jacob yelled, breathing way too fast. Eww, gross. 'Mind putting your phone on speaker?' I asked. 'Yeah! Sure,' she answered, 'it's on the speaker.' 'Jacob, you fata*s! Get your wife and yourself in my house ASAP! Don't be late, or else I will knock some sense in that small brains of yours. Am I understood?' I yelled at him. 'Yes,' he answered softly that you couldn't even hear him say. 'Am I understood?' I snapped at him again even though I heard him the first time. 'Yes!' he answered loudly. 'Good! I want you to my house within 10 minutes. Don't be late,' I ordered. 'Yes. We will be there before you know it," Emily assured. 'Bye, Boss,' she said. 'Bye. Drive safely,' I reminded. After hanging up the phone, I took a seat on the leather chair behind the brown wooden table. I was thinking of an idea of how to get Omar to be kind to Noor. But nothing popped up. The idea that I had wasn't very safe, nor was it a good one. Why was Omar so mean and rude to her? She couldn't do anything mean to him, and besides, she is the sweet, innocent-looking girl who is afraid of hitting a small fly. Getting up from my chair, I walked to the library room. It was a vast room filled with bookshelves all around the room. No single space left where there aren't any book selves. Three medium-size white-colored windows were toward the left and right side of the wall. Four sofas were in front of the window on the right, and it had a glass table where you can place books or anything on. On the ceiling, there was Arabic calligraphy going around in a circular motion, creating a beautiful flow that causes you to look at it even though you don't want to look at it. I saw Noor on the sofa, sleeping away, and you can hear a light snore coming from her. She must have fallen asleep while reading the book "Lord of the Flies," that she held on her arm. This book is pretty good, but the ending is sad—anyway, enough talking about the book now. The sofa that she was sleeping on had a bunch of buttons on the side. One is for turning the couch into a bed, which is pretty cool, and the other once was for some other reasons. After pressing the button, the furniture started to change into a bed, and I realized that Noor didn't move a single muscle. Wow! If she can sleep through this, then she can sleep through anything. She got this from Khalid, bro. I can guarantee you that this man can sleep through anything. If there were a tornado outside his house, he wouldn't bother to get up and save himself. He would just sleep there without caring about what is going on. I totally forgot that the library could get very dark at night, so I walked back to my room and grabbed a night light. If I put on the nightlight, she would not get scared in the library by herself. I kissed her head and walked out but not before closing the door softly. After entering my office, I saw Emily, Jacob, and Robert were sitting on the chair in front of my desk. Jacob had his head on Emily's shoulder as a yawn left his mouth. On the other hand, Robert was playing some game on his phone, totally ignoring the two people next to him. "Oh good, you're all here," I spoke as I walked to my table and took a seat. "What is he doing here?" Jacob questioned, pointing at Robert. "You got a problem with him being here, Mr. Jacob?" I raised my eyebrow, wondering why he asked that. Jacob and Robert are good friends. I mean, they have to be since Jacob is married to his sister, and Robert doesn't want to get beaten by his sister. They are always fighting over stupid things that made no sense. Sometimes I wish I could throw them across the room and knock some sense into their mini little brain. "Yeah, you got a problem?" Robert smirked. "Shut your big mouth before I do it," I snapped, making his smirk disappear. I got up from my seat, turned around towards my big window, crossed my hand over my chest, and spoke, "I've called you all here for a fundamental reason." "We're listening." Robert crossed one leg over the other. Suddenly, Jacob told him to shut up, and it kept going back and forth between the two. I turned around, ready to smack them, but held myself back. Watching both guys argue, I stayed quiet. I turned to Emily, who had her head in her hand. As time passed by, the room became silent. "Why is it all of a sudden so quiet?" Robert questioned, looking around. "That's because..." leaning on the table, I screamed at their face, "you two won't shut that big mouth of yours!" "Sorry," they both mumbled. "Now, let's get to the point. I call you all here to help me get revenge," I smiled. "You mean Walid Khan?" Emily asked, rolling her eyes, "can't we talk about this issue later. I mean, you were just released from the hospital." "I have recovered well already. Don't worry about it. Now-" "How are you going to do that?" Robert cut me off. "You'll find out late. Now shut up!" I snapped, narrowing my eyes at the i***t, "as I was saying, I need your help. If you don't want to help me, I totally understand, but just let you know that the door is that way, and you can leave." "No need for that. You are not going to listen to me anyway. Count us all in. Right, boys?" Emily narrowed her eyes at them, daring them to say no. "Yeah," Jacob agreed, nodding his head quickly. We all turned toward Robert for an answer. I asked, "What about you?" "It's a yes from me!" he smiles. "Dude, you do know that this is not the X-Factor. Just letting you know," Jacob smirked. "Why you always trying to come at me?" Robert threw his hand up in frustration. "Emily?" I asked in a sweet voice. "Yes" "Can I kill your husband?" I gave Jacob a tight smile. "Yeah, but as long as I get to join you!" she rubbed her hands together, made an evil laugh. "Jeez! And here I thought my wife loved me," Jacob sigh, placing his hand over his heart. "I do. It's just sometimes you're too damn annoying," Emily smiled innocently. "Thanks, babe," he muttered. "You're welcome," she kissed him on the cheek. "God, I'm getting sick of this lovey dove scene in front of me," Robert groaned, covering his eyes. "I agree. Now I will give you each a specific job to do and mess it up, and there will be a consequence. I am not playing," I warned them. "Antonia, are you sure you want to do this. I mean, getting revenge or making him suffer isn't really the answer. You might lose everything just by doing this," she gave me an alert. "I am not really going to make him suffer. Well.. kind of. However, in this 'suffer plan,' there is a test. Each test will show me if I can trust him or not. It will also tell me if he is telling the truth all this time," I explained. "What if he doesn't pass the test?' Emily questioned. "Not passing means he does not regret anything that he did. He doesn't regret hurting me, or he just didn't learn his lesson. He didn't come back for love, but he wants something from me. I can't make the same mistakes as I did before," I sighed, looking out the window. "I understand. How do we all come to this?' Jacob asked. "First, Robert, I want you to bring me Mr. Khan's schedule. I don't care what you have to do. Do whatever you have to do. But I want that schedule in my hands by tomorrow. Is that understood?" I asked, looking at him. "Yes, ma'am. How long do you want?" Robert asked. "Excuse me?" I said. "What time to what time?" he asked. "Bring me this month and the following two months, too," I replied. "On it. What I don't get is how I am supposed to get it. Does Walid have any female PA? Casual women are an easy target, I tell you," he laughed. "You better shove those words right back in your mouth, boy, before I bust up your face and make it uglier than it already is," I narrowed my eyes at him. "Ha! Ha! Forgot about the part where two women are standing right in front of me," he laughed nervously. "Yeah! Ha! Ha! Now take back," Emily ordered, grabbing a pencil raising it, ready to attack him. "Okay! I am sorry! Women are not an easy target," he surrendered. "Jacob, I want you to get me the Lunatic Fringe. If he is on his honeymoon right now, bring him here. He can spend time with his wife later," I commanded. "Got it, but what if he doesn't want to come with me?" he questioned. "Isn't that the reason why you lift weights?" I asked him. "No! I don't lift to drag people from place to place. I do it to impress women," he smirked, raising his arm and flexed. His smirk disappeared when Emily gave him a death glare. You can literally see the anger in her eyes. She was ready to beat him up for that. "Looks like someone is sleeping on the sofa tonight," said Robert, trying to hold his laugh back. "Oh, no! He is not sleeping on the sofa tonight. I am extra nice tonight," Emily gave a fake smile at Jacob. "Phew! I thought I was gone there for a second. You also gave me a heart attack there, babe," Jacob released a breath. "I am nice tonight to let him sleep outside on the sidewalk," she snapped. "Please, no! Not the sidewalk. I am sorry, baby. Please, not the sidewalk," he begged her. "Now that this is out of the way. I can't believe I am saying this but Emily, I want you to buy me some pretty dresses. They will come in handy," I smiled. "Yes!" She fist pump in the air. "Lord, help me survive through this shopping, please!" Jacob said, sliding down the chair. "Come on, Jacob, it won't be that bad. You'll be fine," Robert patted Jacob's back. "Dude, you have no idea what it is like to shop with Emily," He complained, running his hand over his face. "How is it like?" I took a seat in my chair, curious to know about it. I want him to get in more trouble. It's funny when he gets scared because he knows what's coming for him from his wife, and he looks like a 5-year old boy who stole cookies from the jar, and his mama caught him, ready to beat him up. "It's like... It's like going to the world's most boring museum in history," he exclaimed. "Jacob," Emily warned, who did not look happy at all and is ready to kill him. "What?" he exclaimed. "You will be sleeping outside for 3 days. Go shopping with me. Also, you will be my model for a week," she smirked. "What did I do now? Wait... oh sh!t,"- he looked at Emily then back at us, "you two did that on purpose. You two set me up this whole time." "We didn't do anything. I simply asked you a question, and you answered foolishly," I shrugged, leaning back into my chair. What an i***t! "Well, we gotta go now. Right, Jacob?" Emily asked, giving him a death glare. "Umm... Haha! I think I'll stay here," he laughed while rubbing his neck. "Oh no, you don't," she said, grabbing his ear and pulling it, "you're coming with me!" "Help! Help! My crazy wife is abducting me!" he yelled as he was dragged out the door. Robert and I started to laugh really hard. Omar walked in, looking at Emily and Jacob's situation. He raised his eyebrow as they are out of their room. Robert got up and walked out. "Have a seat, Omar. We have to talk about your today's behavior," I crossed my arm over my hand. "I am sorry, mom. I just got angry when you called me that name," He sighed. "You have to control your anger, honey. That anger can get you into big trouble. You have to control it," I said. "I know, mom. I don't know why, but I get so angry whenever I see her. I am sorry. I shouldn't have let my anger get the best of me," he said, looking down. "Stop apologizing to me. You should apologize to Noor when she wakes up tomorrow morning," I comforted him. "What?! She is staying here? She is staying the night? Oh God," he groaned. "Omar," I warned, "What did I say?" "Okay! Okay! But I am not becoming her best friend. Don't expect that from me," he said, shaking his head. "I'm not telling you to marry her or anything. I just want you to be nice to her. Please," I pleaded, grabbing Omar's hand and giving it a little squeeze. "Fine. Just so you know that I'm doing this for you only," Omar informed, getting up and kissing me on the cheek. "Oh darn it! I thought you were doing it for her," I teased. "Mom," he whined, blushing. "I am just teasing. Is that a blush I see on your cheek?" I gasped. "I am not blushing!" Omar protested. "Okay, now mind telling me who that girl was that I found a picture of? I am kind of thinking that looks like Noor. But I am not sure. I forget a lot of things now these days," I sigh in disappointment. "Oh, that picture. It is not Noor. Ha! Ha! It was an actress. Yeah, actress. I don't want to wake up late for school tomorrow. Love you. Goodnight," he kissed my cheek before running outside. "Omar?" I called. Opening the door, he stuck his head out and answered, "Yes?" "Goodnight. I love you too. Please be nice to her. Oh, and one more thing. There is no school tomorrow," I laughed. "Okay! Love you," he blushed like a tomato. Leaning against the chair, I watched him close the door softly. I closed my eyes. I don't have to worry about things anymore, Alhamdulillah. If everything goes according to my plan, then everything will be okay, InshAllah. Mr. Khan, you have no idea what is coming toward you. Let the game begin! I smirked.
