♕ 3 W E E K S L A T E R ♕ I hope everything goes well with Hakeem and his mother, inshallah. Nothing is worse than seeing a mother fight with her child and not talk to each other. I dislike seeing this. Omar walked in the other night, saying Hakeem understood a little but was not completely ready to face his mother. Somehow, Omar convinced him to go home. Hakeem needs a little bit of time to take in everything. The work pressure has increased 3x more on my shoulders due to the days that I missed working. These past couple of weeks, I haven't done anything to increase the value of my company. The work that I have been missing out on is now piled up in the office on my desk. I have so many documents to sign and read over. The work has been non-stop; I spend most of the time in an office/home with a file in hand. As much as I love to spend time with my son, it's minimized due to my workload. The guilt of not spending time with Omar is eating me alive. I feel as if I'm putting my work on top of my son. I hope that never happens to me, InshAllah. Emily has been covering for me in the times that I have been absent. She is indeed a hard-working woman; she works her butt for this company. Her due date is almost close. Today didn't start the way I expected to. I didn't join the breakfast table because I was busy, and it was the worst thing I did. Omar left without eating anything. This boy will be the death of me. I called Noor to make sure as soon as Omar enters the school, he eats something. "Come in," "Hey, Boss! What's up? Mind coming to the lobby for a sec," Emily spoke, walking in. It felt like ages since the last time I've seen her. Her stomach has gotten more noticeable than before. Since she is a skinny person, her stomach being big made her look-I don't know how to describe it. She looks amazing. Today she wore something different. She had a long blue dress that goes up to her knees, and underneath her dress, she wore black leggings. She curled her hair, making her face look even more gorgeous. "Mind telling me why?" I raised my eyebrow Taking a seat in front of me, she spoke: "Can't." "I strictly ordered everyone that there will be no welcome party or anything," I reminded her. "How-But-How in the world did you know what I was talking about?" She questioned, looking shocked. I got up from my seat, "Don't ever try to fool me! Did anyone ever tell you that you are a terrible liar? When you lie, your eye flutters." "Really? Maybe I should work on that," she mumbled, "can you at least act as if you are surprised?" "Can't promise you that. May I remind you that I'm terrible at acting," I pointed out. "Please. For me," Emily begged. "Okay. But-" I stopped speaking when I turned around. Emily had a hand on her stomach, groaning in pain. I quickly ran to her. "Are you okay?" "Yes. Just a little bit of pain, that's all," she chuckled, rubbing her tummy. "Are you nuts? YOU ARE IN PAIN!! You're in pain; you showed up to work. I gave you orders to stay home and not deal with any more work since I am back," I snapped, helping her take a seat on the steak chair. "Antonia, I'm fine. Really," she gave me a weak smile. "Shut up. Not a word. I don't want to hear it," I snapped. Going back to my table, I grabbed the telephone and ordered the driver to get the car ready so that we can head to the hospital quickly. When I saw Emily trying to stand up, but she kept falling on the chair, I dashed towards her and helped her stand up. Once we got the door, I opened it for her. Soon we exited my office room. Every single employee was standing there, smiling big. "Sorry, guys, the party has to wait. We got a baby on its way," I announced. "s**t," Robert cursed, making me smack him on his right cheek, "What the hell was that for a woman?!" "The baby can hear you, i***t," I snapped. "For the love of God, the baby hasn't even come out of her v****a yet. And besides, I'm too young to be an uncle," he cried out, rubbing his head. "If you weren't my little brother, then I would have smashed your head with a hammer, Robert," Emily threatened, clenching her stomach. "Love you too, sis," he mumbled. "Damn it, Robert. Call Jacob!" I yelled, smacking him again. "God! Will you stop smacking me," he yelled. This time, I slapped him on his left cheek, "Don't raise your voice at me ever again. Now call!" "But-" "Do I need to explain my orders a different way," I barked His eyes widened as he quickly covered both of his cheeks with his hands, "No! I am on it." I helped her get in the car. Following her, I got in too. As soon as we got there, they put her in a wheelchair and took her to a room. I followed behind them. An hour later, Jacob ran toward me. Bending down, he tried to catch his breath. "Where is she?" "She is in the room. She is doing fine other than screaming our heads off," I shrugged. "I WANT MY HUSBAND!!" Came screams from the room "What do you know, the devil has unleashed. Go in there, lover boy, before she makes everyone die," I laughed. Not wasting any more time, he got into the room. Just then, Robert walked in. What's up with this family - coming in one after the other. Why can't they come all at once? This is just crazy. "How is she?" he looked toward the room. "So far, she is doing fine besides screaming her head off, like crazy women. Which is like totally okay!" I sarcastically said. "She got that from mom," he laughed. "Jacob, I will cut off you d!! k the very next time you ever touch me again. Oh, how badly I want to smack the hell out of you," She yelled. "This girl has no shame," I shook my head. "I got Mr. Khan's schedule that you wanted. And the other day, I was doing my regular jogging, and I saw Walid Khan talking to Omar. Mr. Khan looked quite happy," He informed me. I stopped looking through the files and looked up at him, "What? When?!" "If I am not mistaken, it was a couple of weeks ago," he answered. "Get me an open spot in his schedule. I don't care what he is doing right now. But get me one," I commanded. "I just came from his office building. His PA said he did not come to his office today. He is at his house," He answered. "Then get me his address!" I snapped. "Oh yes, ma'am," he said. Who the hell does he think he is, coming near my son. He has no right whatsoever. He lost that when he chose that woman over me. He lost his privilege of seeing him. But why didn't Omar say anything to me about this? What if Walid is trying to take Omar away from me?? NO! NO! I can not let that happen.
