I didn't waste a moment to think it over; my hands shot out. I grabbed the chains and jerked them to open but to no avail. Grabbing them again, I gathered whatever strength I had left and tried to unchain them. Their rattling echoed in the space, and the heavy chains were making enough noise for Zayden to hear. Wincing, I tried to undo it, but all it did was make more noise. They were secured with a lock that had a keyhole in it, and I tried to pull it apart, but all I managed to do was look stupid while doing so. I wasn't at my full strength; I hadn't been for years.
