Selena POV “I hate this plan,” Cassius muttered, his voice low and rough as the Jeep bumped along the rocky ridge. His hands clenched the steering wheel so tightly the knuckles whitened, and his dark eyes scanned the uneven trail ahead. I held onto the seat, bracing myself against each jolt, wishing the road would end or at least smooth out for a moment. “I hate it too,” I admitted quietly, forcing calm into my voice even as my pulse raced. “But maybe… maybe we won’t have to do anything.” I remembered the early morning training vividly.
