Chapter 19: A Sudden Grip
Samantha POV…
“Remember to keep a smiling face when we go to the dinner date. The cameras will be so focused on us, and you wouldn’t want anyone to think I am maltreating you, would you?” Adrian drew my cheeks and let out a forced smile.
I nodded slowly, all the confidence I had gathered the previous day buried. I thought I could keep up with Adrian, but I had learned to realize that he was no match for me, not after the words he said to me in the early hours of the day: “I will make you disappear without a trace the way my ex-wife did.” That was one sentence that scared me more than death itself. I would prefer to die than disappear without a trace.
“Aren’t you cool now that you are being the obedient dog you are?” He patted my head gently.
