Adrian POV…
To clear my doubts, I opened the message.
“No… it can’t be.” I stared at the screen, my eyes almost popping out.
Good evening. From Valeria, your ex-wife. I know you miss me, and I’m coming back for you.
I rubbed my eyes and blinked. “This is not possible. I’m definitely overthinking this.” I chuckled nervously and dropped the phone for a moment.
“Calm down, Adrian. You’re overthinking everything,” I told myself. “Valeria is gone for good. Your guards even confirmed it when they went after her and found nothing. Free your mind and focus on the matter at hand.”
I took a deep breath, trying to calm my screaming nerves.
With fear and doubt, I picked up my phone again. Slowly, I opened my eyes and peeked at the screen.
