Chapter 18: A Reputation
Samantha POV…
I rolled restlessly on my bed, unable to catch sleep, no matter how hard I tried. I lay on my stomach, then on my side, then sat upright, but nothing worked. Sleep refused to come.
My back still ached terribly from the wounds I’d received from the countless beatings the night before. As the pain throbbed through my body, memories from yesterday flooded my mind.
I had tried to forget. I had tried to move on. But no matter how hard I fought it, I couldn’t.
