Samantha POV…
“What do you have to say?” he repeated.
His question struck deep. I faced him, knowing this was the end for me.
“I… I’m sorry. I should have told you earlier, but I didn’t want to escalate things, so I chose to stay quiet.” I didn’t even know what gave me the audacity to say such nonsense.
He said nothing. He only watched me closely, as though trying to extract the truth from my silence.
