CHAPTER 11

1694 Words
After that day, Lily and I spent our time at the hotel in complete relaxation. We even barely stepped outside since everything we needed was already available—or could simply be delivered to us. The hotel had everything: world-class restaurants, spas, pools, and even a private cinema. It was luxury at its finest, and for once, I allowed myself to enjoy it. Though we were enjoying ourselves, we still made sure to check in with Lily’s parents from time to time, updating them on our stay. However, per Lily’s request, we never mentioned my true identity. She insisted it wasn’t necessary, and I agreed, grateful that she understood my reluctance to share such things. I also made sure to update Vincentius regularly. I learned my lesson after the manager knocked on our door the other day, reminding me—on my brother’s behalf—that I needed to check in with him. It seemed Vincentius was keeping a much closer eye on me than I had anticipated, probably because it had been years since we last had real contact. I wasn’t sure if it was a concern or anything else, but either way, I took note of it. Since we frantically do almost all the things we can do at the hotel, tonight we decided that we can just lounged by the poolside, looking at the city lights and lights from the other buildings that surrounded the hotel when Lily turned to me with a curious expression. "So," she started, lazily stretching out on the lounge chair beside mine, "do you finally have a plan for your revenge?" I didn’t respond right away. Instead, I let my gaze linger on the view, my thoughts tangled in everything that had happened. During our stay here, I had spent countless hours considering my next steps. These past few days, my mind has been consumed with nothing but thoughts of what I should do next. Even though more than a week had already passed since Tyler’s betrayal, the pain still lingered. No matter how much I told myself I wouldn’t cry over it anymore, I still found myself waking up in the middle of the night, haunted by nightmares. The restaurant scene replayed in my head like a cruel film. The way they toyed with me, the humiliation, the laughter—it all cut deeper than I wanted to admit after all I had given three years of my life to Tyler, believing he truly cared love me, only to be used and discarded like I was nothing. But I wasn’t going to let it end that way. I will have my revenge. Not just any revenge but the perfect revenge. "I've been thinking about it," I finally said in a calm voice. Lily immediately perked up, her eyes shining with curiosity. "Really? What is it?" “The first step I need to take….is to change.” Lily sat up straighter, her brows furrowing slightly. "Change? What do you mean?" "I mean everything," I said without hesitation. "I need to get rid of the excess weight, clear my skin, and transform myself completely. I don’t want to show up in front of them looking like the same person they mocked and humiliated. I want them to see someone unrecognizable—someone they can’t belittle ever again. If I want the perfect revenge, I need to start with myself.” Lily blinked at me before groaning dramatically, throwing her head back against the lounge chair. "Damn, Clara. You’re really serious about this. I thought you'd just use your family’s power to crush them—I never expected you to start with this.” I chuckled at her reaction. "That would be too easy, Lily. Where’s the fun in that? Revenge shouldn’t be taken in one blow. It should be slow—step by step. The humiliation and pain they made me feel? I’ll return it to them a hundredfold.” Lily grinned, eyes gleaming with excitement. "Okay, now this is getting interesting! So what’s the plan? A full-blown makeover? Some high-class training arc?" I smirked, determination burning in my chest. "Something like that. I’m going to make sure that when they see me again, they won’t just regret what they did—they’ll wish they never crossed me in the first place." Lily clapped her hands together, nearly bouncing in her seat. "Now that I can’t wait for it to happen!” “Neither could I,” I said, smiling widely. Lily stared at me for a moment before slowly grinning. "Alright, I’ll support you. But don’t expect me to join you on this crazy workout journey. I like my snacks." I laughed. "Noted." And just like that, the first step of my transformation began the very next day. Last night, I had called the hotel's manager—who had now practically become my personal assistant—Mr. Jonas Avila, and asked him to arrange a fitness coach for me. This morning, dressed in my gym clothes, I headed straight to the hotel's gym. Since Lily and I were the only ones staying on the top floor, inviting a stranger up there, especially a man, was out of the question, so we made our way to the second floor where the gym was located. While I was ready for a workout, Lily—true to her word—had no intention of joining me. She showed up in a casual dress, her long hair pulled into a loose ponytail, carrying a sketchpad under her arm. She had been practicing yoga for quite some time now, and with her naturally toned physique, I figured she didn’t need a gym session anyway. Knowing she'd want to be comfortable while she waited, I had specifically asked Jonas to prepare a chair and table for her in the corner of the gym. As she settled into her seat, flipping open her sketchpad, she glanced at me with amusement. “You’re really fast with this whole transformation plan,” she remarked. “The moment you decided on it, you jumped right in.” “Well, since we don’t have to go to university for the last two months of our college life, I might as well do something productive. Besides, for my revenge to take place, doing this is a must, so there’s no excuse to postpone it.” Lily smirked. “Alright, alright. Now go ahead and start your workout. Looks like your coach is already here. I’ll just stay right here, and if you need me, just call me. And don’t push yourself too hard.” “I won’t!” I assured her before heading toward Jonas and the coach. "Good morning, Lady Clara," Jonas greeted as I approached. "As you requested, this is Leo, your fitness coach." Leo, a well-built man in his late thirties with sharp eyes and a confident stance, extended his hand. “It’s nice to meet you, Ms. Clara. I’m Leo, and I’ll be your fitness coach for as long as you need me.” I shook his hand firmly. “Hello, Coach. Please take good care of me.” Leo nodded, a small smile playing at the corner of his lips. “Of course. First things first—before we get into any real workout, we need to start with proper stretching. It helps prevent injuries and improves flexibility.” I followed him to an open space in the gym where he gestured for me to stand beside him. “Alright, let’s start with some basic neck stretches,” Leo instructed. “Tilt your head to the right, like this.” He demonstrated, his ear almost touching his shoulder. I copied his movement. “Good,” he said. “Now, hold it for ten seconds….and switch to the left.” I followed along, feeling a slight pull along the side of my neck. “Next, let’s loosen up your shoulders.” He rolled his shoulders in slow circles. “Ten times forward, then ten times backward.” I did as he said, feeling the muscles in my shoulders and upper back relax slightly. “Alright, now let’s stretch your arms. Extend your right arm across your chest and use your left hand to gently pull it closer,” he instructed. I followed his movements, feeling a satisfying stretch in my upper arm. “Hold it….good. Now switch arms.” As I switched sides, I glanced at Lily, who was watching us with amusement while sketching something. Leo chuckled. “She’s having fun just watching, huh?” I smirked. “She made it very clear she wouldn’t be working out with me.” “Fair enough,” Leo said. “Alright, now let’s move to your legs. Place your feet shoulder-width apart, then bend down and try to touch your toes. Don’t force it—just go as far as you comfortably can.” I bent forward, feeling a stretch in my hamstrings. My fingertips barely brushed my shins. Leo placed his hands on his hips. “Not bad, but we’ll work on that flexibility. Hold it….five more seconds….and slowly come back up.” I straightened, shaking out my legs. “I didn’t think stretching would already feel like a workout.” Leo chuckled. “That just means your muscles are waking up. Now, one last stretch before we start warming up. Step your right foot back into a lunge position. Keep your back straight and lower yourself down slowly.” I followed his instructions, feeling the burn in my thighs. “Like this?” “Exactly. Now hold it….ten seconds….and switch legs.” As I switched sides, I could already feel my body loosening up. Leo clapped his hands together. “Great job. Stretching is done. Now, let’s move on to some light warm-ups before we start your actual workout.” I took a deep breath, rolling my shoulders. “Let’s do it.” Lily, who had been silent until now, called out, “Don’t pass out on your first day, Clara!” I shot her a playful glare. “Not happening.” Leo laughed. “I like the determination. Alright, let’s begin.”
