Situation escalated as fast as tide rose in the ocean. Not only had the local residents mostly parents joined the protest, even some civil activists from different parts of the country united with the students fraternity in the demonstration. Together, we combined a formidable force that the city ought to reckon. As expected, the city’s metropolitan police, the anti-riot police and officers from PMPD were present, armed with protective gears and shields but we had outnumbered them dangerously. They could only stand and watch helplessly from a distance as we pitched a camp in front of the school gate. A couple bulldozers were rumbling nearby alongside other demolition workers, they seemed lost in what they were supposed to do facing such a challenging situation.
