Over the next few days, Dani went to the courthouse and filled out paperwork for the restraining order and had a date and time to appear before the judge.
Dani held up a simple floral print dress. “What does a person wear to request a restraining order?”
Ellie flipped hangers. “You should wear this.”
She handed Dani a short-sleeve, pale green top and a simple floral skirt. “You can add a cardigan in case it’s cool inside.”
Dani threw the dress on the bed and held up the new outfit. “I think this will work. Give me five minutes to change.”
Ellie hung up the dress and straightened out the closet.
Dani peeked her head out of the bathroom. “Do you think Derek will be there?”
“From what Pad said, he was served. If he doesn’t show up, it won’t look good for him.”
