CHAPTER 5

Hug me back “Angel” I heard, and turned to see Nina smiling as she walked towards me. She looked really pretty and happy. Of course she should be, it was her brother’s wedding. “Nina,” i said half smiling. “Hey sister-in-law, how do you feel today?” she asked, beaming. “Fine” I said plainly. “Oh, c’mon, that sounds dead, you should be happy today, it’s your wedding” she said, pouting and my lips twitched into a smile. She has this good vibe that I can't just explain. “Come with me” she said, pulling me, and I reluctantly followed her. I saw Ryan talking to someone. Don’t tell me this girl is taking me to her brother. Nina finally pulled me to where Ryan was. He was with someone, his friend I suppose, and he strangely looked familiar. “It’s unfair to leave your wife all alone on her wedding day, you know” Nina said to Ryan as he turned to us. He just looked at Nina and glared at her. I could see that they had a sibling bond or what is it called? I am the only child of my parents, so I don't know what it feels like to have a sibling. “You should greet your guests together with Angel” Nina said to Ryan, frowning again, but he seemed to ignore her. Almost immediately, Nina smirked at him and called the attention of the guests around us. I wondered what she was going to do and I didn't miss the deadly glare that Ryan sent her. “Here is the groom and bride, you guys should-” she said, turning to us when Ryan instantly took my hand and hurriedly pulled me from that area. I stared at him and he pulled me through the guests to a more quiet place. He just avoided his sister’s wrath. What a crazy girl she is, I thought, and almost laughed out loud. “Hey cousin” I heard someone say from behind and I turned almost immediately, Ryan did. “Michael” Ryan said, frowning. “Aren’t you happy to see me here Ryan”, Michael said sarcastically, and Ryan just glared at him. Ohh wow! Interesting, so they don’t have a good relationship, I thought. What do I expect? Michael is a jerk. “Angel” my mum called from a distance. I excused myself and went to meet her, frowning. “Sweetheart”, she started. “Shouldn’t you spend some time with us right now, or aren’t you going to miss me and your dad” she questioned. “I will” I said shortly and suddenly burst into tears. I don't know where all the emotions came from, but I just poured them out right there and then, in front of my mum. “Ohh My baby” she whispered as she gently took me out of the avenue to the garden behind it. She hugged me tightly when we finally got to a quiet place. I cried so hard that I felt like my energy was draining , and all this while, my mum gently patted my hair and rubbed my back. That was all I needed at that moment and I got it. * * The party finally came to an end, and the guest watched me and Ryan get in the car to take us home. It sounds strange to call a new place my home, but reluctant as I am to admit it, it really has just become my home. The drive to my new home was quiet and longer than expected. We finally got home. It was the lovely mansion I met myself in on that day. I was too occupied to have noticed the elegant building, not to talk of admiring it that day, but now I see that its exterior is as lovely as the interior. As we entered the mansion’s sitting room, I saw the woman that greeted me the other day. I was happy that we weren’t alone. Ryan and I. It sounds rather strange, but i don’t want to be alone with him. “I’ll be back” Ryan said briefly as he went out before I could say anything. I walked further into the house, to where the woman was. “Congratulations” she said, smiling broadly before i could utter a word. “Thanks,” I said, smiling. “Um..can you take me to the bedroom?” I asked politely. “Oh sure” she said as she led me to the same bedroom I slept in the other day. “Isn’t this Ryan’s room?” i asked. “Yes,” she replied, giving me a surprised look. “Can you please help me with my dress?” I asked and she chuckled. “It’s okay, i already knew that you weren’t going to need help with taking it off,” she said as she helped me. I was alone in the room. I just took off the dress completely and heaved a sigh of relief. Walking slowly, I headed to the bathroom to freshen up. I need a cold shower to survive right now. When I was done with my business in the bathroom, I tied one of the towels and went back to the room. As I stepped back into the room, the door flung open. It was Ryan. He went in and roughly closed the door behind him. He turned and met me standing in front of the bathroom door, staring at him. Something was off, he looked…drunk. He staggered towards me and I slowly moved back. As I moved away from him, he kept his dark gaze on me and moved closer. My back finally hit the wall beside the bed, and he pinned me to the wall. He placed one hand on the wall and the other on my waist. I trembled when I realised that I was still on a towel. Just the towel. “Ryan” I said in a whisper as his breath hovered across my face. “Angel” he said while running his finger on my lips, and I trembled. His fingers left my lips and his hands engulfed my waist as he hugged me. His head was buried in my neck, and I was confused by his actions. The smell of alcohol and his cologne filled my nose and it left it shivering. “Ryan stop it” I said, as I tried to push him away. “Hug me back, or your towel is going to fall,” he said with his deep voice, hugging me even tighter.
