N Y X The door flew open. The sharp crack of it slamming against the wall cut through the room so violently that even I hadn’t sensed it coming in time. The air shifted instantly pressure, dominance, heat. Raiden stepped in. Draven reacted before thought could catch up to him. He turned sharply, head bowing low as his spine bent in a show of submission that was pure instinct. “Alpha,” he said quickly. He took two steps back from me, creating distance as if the space itself might incriminate him. Raiden’s gaze swept the room in a slow, lethal arc. The bed. The rumpled sheets clutched around my body. Draven standing far too close for comfort. His jaw tightened. “What are you doing here?” Raiden asked, his voice calm but it was the kind of calm that came right before blood was spilled
