The backdrop was the perfect photo op for the pirate-themed homecoming dance. It was sturdy enough to stand up to groups of high school kids banging against the makeshift bars and all of the foliage Paisley had brought in gave it a tropical feel. Laney’s parents stopped by with Oliver to see the setup and they insisted on getting a picture of Billy, Laney, and Oliver together.
“This town is lucky to have your talents,” Josi said. “Both of you.”
Billy grinned and pulled Laney next to his side. “I couldn’t have done it without Miss Bossypants.”
