Chapter 4 Heartbreak

770 Words
After signing the purchase order the consultant handed her, Stella took the elevator down to the parking garage. But the moment she stepped out, she collided head-on with a sickeningly intimate scene just a few yards away. Jace had Chloe pinned flush against a concrete pillar, kissing her with a wild, ravenous hunger. Their lips and tongues battled fiercely for a long time before they finally broke apart. Chloe weakly hit his chest. "Didn't you say you were completely done with me last night? Why are you doing this now?" Jace's Adam's apple bobbed heavily, and his eyes glazed over with raw lust. "You actually took that bullshit seriously? You know damn well why I'm with Stella. And then you deliberately brought another guy to piss me off? Are you trying to f*****g kill me?" Chloe pouted. "Liar. I don't want your life. I obviously just want your heart." Jace captured Chloe's lips once more. As the passion skyrocketed, Chloe slipped her jacket off her shoulders. The sexy spaghetti strap dress she wore dipped dangerously low, exposing a scandalous expanse of cleavage. Jace buried his face into her neck. Just as it looked like they were about to go all the way right there in the open, he abruptly slammed the brakes. The fiery lust in his eyes and his violently heaving chest were clear indicators of the agonizing restraint he was exercising. He rested his forehead against hers, his expression dead serious. "Your first time is precious, Chloe. It needs to be saved for our wedding night to be absolutely perfect." Chloe's face was flushed crimson. Touched, but completely overwhelmed by lust, she whined, "But I want it now. Please, Jace?" "Be a good girl, Chloe. Just wait a little longer. Wait until the day you truly become my bride, and I promise I'll make it up to you properly, okay?" Jace was desperately trying to talk her down. But the dam had already broken. Chloe boldly pressed her breasts flush against Jace's chest, kissing him aggressively to shut him up. Jace surrendered completely. He scooped Chloe up in his arms and threw her into the backseat of his car. Not long after the doors slammed shut, breathless, melodic moans began echoing through the garage as the massive car began to rock, the rhythm escalating from a gentle sway to a violent shudder. Stella bit down hard on her lower lip, a suffocating knot of complex emotions twisting in her chest. She clearly knew the truth now. She knew she was nothing more than a pathetic prop in Jace and Chloe's twisted romance. Yet, in this very moment, her heart still physically ached so much that she could barely breathe. It turned out that when a man truly loves a woman, his instinct is to fiercely protect and restrain himself. When she and Jace started dating, when had she ever seen him exercise this kind of agonizing restraint? With her first time, Jace couldn't even wait until he was properly discharged from the hospital. That day in the ward, the second she accepted his confession, he literally sobbed tears of joy. Ignoring his unhealed injuries, he grabbed her, pinned her to the hospital bed, and possessed her over and over again with a terrifying, predatory hunger. He had said, "Stella, I don't know what's wrong with me. My emotions are completely overpowering my logic. My physical obsession and emotional love for you are running perfectly parallel. I just want to take you again and again, seeing you completely ruined and lost in pleasure just for me. God, I love you so f*****g much. I'm obsessed with you." Stella turned around with a bitter smile and walked out of the underground garage. The bustling streets were crowded, but strangely enough, despite the endless stream of traffic on the asphalt, she couldn't hail a single cab. No Uber drivers accepted her ride request, and every passing taxi had its "Off Duty" light on. Left with zero options, she was forced to walk all the way back to the sprawling estate. Under the blistering, unforgiving sun, Stella walked the ten-mile stretch for nearly three agonizing hours. The ruptured blood blisters on the soles of her feet made every single step feel like she was barefoot on shattered glass. Just as the massive iron gates of the villa finally came into view, a violent wave of dizziness crashed over her. Her knees buckled, and she collapsed forward onto the pavement. In the final fading second before her consciousness completely blacked out, she caught a glimpse of a blurry silhouette sprinting desperately toward her.
