Kenna Hawthorn has always been known as the princess of the garden district with her bubbly charisma and genuine want to help others. But deep inside, she longs to be noticed by her long time crush Jasper Calidan who has been a family friend ever since she was born. Her family and his family had known each other since her parents were little. However, Jasper is the complete opposite of Kenna with his dark sense of humor and pessimism always coloring his view of the world. He has always found Kenna overbearingly annoying with all her rainbows and sunshine appearance and way of living. He's always been mean to her, trying to bring her down to his level not realizing that he secretly loved riling her up to see that spark of defiance and fire in her eyes and he loved how he always felt seen by her as being his own person. Kenna has finally come back home from college and is getting ready to start working in a Vet's clinic. Her family is throwing her a welcome home party. Of course the Calidan's will be there too and Kenna is dying to see Jasper. But will he return the feelings?
