Love Me, Please Ch. 2

Kenna I woke up to the sun shining through my bedroom window. Today was Saturday and I had nothing to do but lie here and think…and think some more. My thoughts seem to constantly go back to Jasper. He was as handsome as I remembered. More so if that were possible. Last night when he had walked in, all the breath had seemed to leave my body and I had forgotten how to breathe. His six-foot frame had filled out so that I could get an idea of what muscles lied beneath his tight-fitting black shirt and jeans that seemed to ride low on his hips. His hair was short and straight and was a coppery wine color. It wasn’t a bright red, but rather a red so deep that you’d mistake it for a bronze brown. His bangs had laid flat against his forehead, barely brushing against his thick brows that always seemed to be frowning at me. I smiled. Last night I had itched to rub those brows and sooth the lines of irritation. He most likely would’ve smacked my hand away and growled. Like a skittish German Shepard. Sighing, my thoughts then turned to those ice-cold Jade eyes. I had never met someone with that eye color before, and it always entranced me when he glared at me or gave me a piercing look. A knock on my door made me jump. “It’s me,” Amelia said. “Are you decent?” “Yeah, you can come on in.” The door opened and there stood my older sister wearing her worn jeans and a simple orange blouse. Only she could pull off orange with her chestnut brown hair. “I still think it’s unfair that you can pull off orange and I can’t,” I pouted, which elicited a laugh from her. She walked in and pulled up the chair from my desk. “What do you say we go down to the Art’s district today? They’re having an autumn market and I thought it might be fun to meet up with Valerie and check out the goods.” I loved going to the autumn market this time of year so I didn’t hesitate to give her an enthusiastic yes. “Be ready in an hour,” she said before getting up to leave. Amelia was very different from me. More down to earth and calm. Honestly, I felt she balanced me out most of the time and I liked that she never expected me to either tone down my personality or to always keep it going. I could relax and be more subdued in her presence. Valerie was slightly different, more sarcastic and explicit in a way. She would be more of Jasper’s type. My heart contracted painfully at that thought. Valerie was gorgeous too. She had long straight black hair, and gray eyes that were always lined with eyeliner to make her eyes pop and her outfits always screamed sensual. All of a sudden, I was struggling with thoughts about myself, now comparing myself and her. I knew it was because I wanted Japser to look at me the way he had looked at Valerie in the past. I wanted him to notice me and see me not as some annoying family friend but as a woman. As my thoughts continued to swirl, I pulled on my favorite pair of black leggings, brown boots, and an emerald blouse. I layered on gold bracelets, gold hoop earrings, and a gold necklace that had a single diamond hanging on it. Then I pulled my hair up in a ponytail, allowing the curls to hang freely in a waterfall down my back and a few to frame my face before dabbing on some blush, lip gloss and mascara. Before heading out, I grabbed my brown leather jacket and a cream-colored scarf. “You always look so elegant,” my sister said, smiling at my attire. I gave her a dazzeling smile. Getting into her car, we drove down to the Arts District. Parking was horrendous but we eventually found one. A natural smile came to my face as we walked towards the river front where I could see tents with various goods being sold. The autumn air was slightly chillier here by the water even with the sun shining on us. I slipped into my jacket, glad I brought it. “Ah! There’s Valerie,” Amelia exclaimed, and waved to a person near a tent selling candles. Valerie was definitely still as beautiful as I remembered her with her black, sleek hair pulled into a high pony, leggings showing off the curve of her thighs and butt and a crop top that brought the eyes to her slim abdomen. She wore a sweater to help keep out some of the chill. “Hey! So glad you’re back!” she exclaimed as she wrapped me in a hug. I hugged her back with equal enthusiasm. “I’m so glad to be back! How have you been!?” Pulling back, she began to fill me in on her current job, boyfriend, and life in general. “How 'bout you? Do you have a boyfriend?” I wasn’t expecting the question and I was startled. “Oh, no,” I said simply. She gawked at me. “You’ve got to be kidding me. You’re a fine pretty drink of water and any man would want some of you.” Amelia chuckled. “My baby sister here has had a long time crush on Jasper.” My head whipped to look at my sister, mouth open to ask how she knew. “Please, I see the way you have always looked at him Kenna.” She gave a knowing little smile and I blushed. “He’s hot stuff,” Valerie whistled low. “Tonight we’re going to be going to the club with both Jasper and Zachary. I was wondering if you wanted to join us,” Amelia offered. “I’d love to! Can’t miss an opportunity to rile up the boys and give them a run for their money.” Valerie looked at me with a look that said she was scheming something. “What do you plan on wearing to the club tonight?” I didn’t know how that mattered, but I answered anyway. “Probably a simple long sleeved dress,” I said. Now both girls were looking at me with that same glint in their eyes. “I think it’s time we gave your sister a little makeover tonight.” “I couldn’t agree more.” “What about the market?” I protested. Amelia shook her head. “Nope, we’re going to go shopping for an outfit for you. It’s time Jasper opens his eyes and sees what exactly he’s missing out on.” My heart skipped a beat. Make Jasper notice me? I had tried in the past, but he had always complained about how annoying I was or to get lost and what not. Would he notice me more if I changed how I normally dressed and looked? It couldn’t hurt to find out so I shrugged and left it to them.
