Chapter 9

1614 Words
CADY It was early morning and I crept out of my room for an early morning walk on the hallways. I didn't want to meet with Damon. At least, let it be only for the times he'd summon me. I didn't want to voluntarily bring myself into trouble with him. The hallway was still completely silent. It was 5:30AM. Royalties don't wake by this time. I was moving quietly along the hallways, from one to another without any direction until I came along this particular one, stretching with a dark aesthetic aura, lined with portraits of the past patriarchs and matriarchs. I halted. Something whispered to my ear, “The President's Wing.” Suddenly terror swarmed over me. I looked at the indicators, which were the portraits. Their golden eyes followed me, judgmental and unblinking, as if they knew exactly what I was doing. I kept my breath shallow but pulse loud in my ears. I wanted to go back but I'd passed more than half of the extensively long hallway. The distance out was shorter than the distance back, so I propelled myself forward, summoning the greatest courage while praying to the moon goddess inside of me. “Please don't let anyone catch me.” I prayed. I continued ahead until I reached a heavy oak door that stood slightly ajar. Voices drifted out. Low, serious and controlled. The last bit of energy in me faded away. I froze into a statue of listening ears. “You shouldn't be doing this.” My heart warned. I'd wandered to Sir Theon's territory. I had no rights here but coming here wasn't even my wish. Till I walked up here, I never really knew. I pressed my back against the cold stone wall and listened, heart hammering. Sir Theon’s voice came first, deep, carrying the weight of decades of rule. “You have kept her close, as I asked.” Damon’s response was clipped, edged with impatience that made my stomach twist. “She is under my watch. Every move. Every breath. Every whimper.” “Good.” Sir Theon paused. I could picture him behind the massive oak desk, fingers steepled, golden eyes sharp as knives. “But remember my order. She is your personal maid. Nothing more. You will not f**k her. Not once.” My breath caught in my throat so sharply it hurt. Personal maid. The words landed like a physical slap across my face. But the second part, the explicit command not to touch me, confused me more than anything. Why would he care? Why would he forbid the very thing I'd decided to use soon to snatch Damon away from Aiden, I'd get him to mark me and he would return to the Academy on resumption not wanting Aiden again. I'd destroyed their relationship once and couldn't wait to destroy it again. I wanted Aiden but he chose a guy he'd never marry over me. He gave me the hope I had a chance with him years ago and when my mind was fully buried with him, I found out he was dating Blake, the now demonic Damon. I still remembered loud and clear, him lying that he was single. If I'd know he was dating from the beginning, I wouldn't have gone this far. Since I couldn't get him any longer, getting his one and only would hurt him most. I vowed to convert Damon to myself. And when he's hellbound with me? I'll leave him.. My mind was made up, then it returned to the present. Damon let out a short, bitter laugh. It sounded reluctant. Then Damon spoke again, voice lower, almost thoughtful. “So I am to torment her. Tease her. Keep her on edge. Make her beg. But never cross that line. Right?” “Absolutely.” Sir Theon said with an air of finality. “Camilla is watching. She is already plotting to kick Selena out but instead of that happening, the reverse would happen. And Cady is the pawn. Use her well. Remember if you execute your role well, you're taking over from me sooner than expected.” My fingers grabbed my lips as my gasp was almost ringing out. “I want to retire early and enjoy my life with my partner. Camilla has never been a good mom to you, nor a good wife to me. She's only after fame, money and luxury. I'll never forget her drugging me for seduction and sex.” But that was no good reason wanting to use me. I shook my head vehemently, starting to blame myself for coming in here, only to get reminded of my mission. His words felt too heavy for me. Yet I got a secret a lot of people don't know. Should they know, I'd be dead. “Dad? Isn’t that too extreme……even as she didn’t take good care of us?” Damon protested. I was already thinking which son would readily agree to execute a plot against his mom. “Camilla, your mom has been selfish even till today. Whether you like it or not, you will do what I say.” Sir Theon hit the desk with fury. The sound propelled out, sending me into a horrible shiver. “And mind you…..you will not expose this secret!” He gritted his teeth. I pressed my palm to my mouth to keep from gasping aloud. My knees trembled violently. Damon exhaled slowly, the sound carrying through the crack in the door like smoke. “So I am the bait. And she is the trap.” “You are the weapon,” His dad corrected. “Use her presence here for our goal.” Another pause. Longer this time. I could almost feel the tension radiating through the door. “And if she begs?” Damon asked. His voice had gone dark, almost amused, laced with something hungry and cruel. “If she crawls to me, dripping, pleading for my c**k? If she offers herself completely?” I was drifting aback. Damon, trying to plead for me? Mentioning the exact thing I had in mind? Mentioning his ‘cock.’ My p***y was already clenching, my fingers so tight over the fabric of my dress. “Remember we get to use commoners for our benefits. You do what I tell you to do!” Damon mumbled. “What of your best friend? How long is he staying here?” “Urgh? Who?” The sudden urge to gasp aroused but I suppressed it quickly. The way he spoke, it's as if he's already here. Aiden had come? Damon talked about bringing him in here. Had he arrived already? Excitement and anxiety rushed into me. “No dad, he's an orphan.” Damon's voice lowered in a plea. “Just for the holiday.” But the voice proved hesitant like he wanted him to stay beyond that. “Still from Crestville?” That meant he didn't know about Aiden before now. His foster dad didn't tell him. It was shocking but then not what I was meant to focus on. “Yes,” Damon replied. “My junior and good player of the hockey league. We have been best friends for years now.” Damon's voice cut through. “Hmm,” Sir Theon beamed. “Okay.” He didn't suspect and at that moment, a wicked thought climbed up my mind to expose them. “Do you think that will hurt more than you taking Damon from Aiden?” A little voice sparked in my head. I drew in a quick breath, trying to get an answer. “No, it won't. Last time it ended in disaster.” I replied to myself, shaking my head seriously. A snatching game is the best! “I guess that's all. You may now return to…..” I didn't just wait for the last word before zooming off in a flash that I, myself, couldn't explain. I fled back to my room and locked the door. Leaning against it, I tried to breathe through the nausea rising in my throat. He was not protecting me from his mother. He was using me. Sir Theon had ordered him to torment me as an enticing setup to Camilla. And Damon had agreed. The worst part? My heart kept hinting Damon has his own motives. I slid to the floor, sat here, trembling. “He will summon you again,” I heard the same little voice speak to me again. Suddenly the thought of Aiden being the one Sir Theon referred to popped up. The image of him kissing Damon, Damon f*****g him. I was beginning to feel hot and furious. “f**k!” I slapped my cheeks countless times, resetting my brain, trying to stop these thoughts from suppressing me. For the sake of my heart and Aiden, I was determined to seduce him at all cost. Create chaos in his affair with Aiden and escape his dad's plot who wants to use me as a pawn. Damon’s role was clear now. Tormentor. And Aiden here? My life had become a chessboard, and I was the pawn no one cared about saving. I wiped my eyes and stood up slowly. I would not break so easily, instead I'd create the reverse. I'll turn things around to hurt them all. My hate for him tripled that very moment, the urge to f**k his life up when he least expects. With Aiden. I straightened my dress and took a deep breath. “Just watch and see!” I gave a dark grin. He has given me an expo. I would be a b***h if I didn't walk with it.
