AIDEN
She thought I’ve forgotten but I haven’t. I never loved her right from the beginning, except as a best friend until she broke into my relationship with my first-ever love. Then, that love turned into enmity, one I covered up under the guise of a love which never existed.
Cady is so easy to fool. And I love it that way.
I knew Cady from her mom who was our housekeeper at that time. Each time she came to work, she would come with her. She was shy at first and would only focus on her work. This spiked the curiosity inside me, I would always get close, trying to talk to her.
Selena tried to make her respond but she never did. However, when I turned away and accidentally flipped my face back, she was watching. Her eyes mixed with a glow of fondness and the other, which I didn’t readily comprehend.
This continued over time but I couldn’t force it though. I wanted to be her best friend but it seemed like she was okay just admiring me from a distance, if I’m right.
Then a young guy, about my age but slightly older packed into the neighborhood with his single dad. His beauty was enchanting, his composure gripping. At once my attention was switching and I wasn’t really looking at Cady like before.
Blake, as I came to know his name, was jovial from the very first day. The kind of friend or best friend my lonely heart would love to have. I began to spend most of my days at his side, his dad was receptive.
“My son likes you a lot, he can’t stop talking about you even after you leave.” He would always say when I went to visit in the morning.
I began seeing more of Blake and less of Cady. His hand on my hair, eyes grazing with charm on my face, his cute, warm smile, they made me squirm and for a while, I was in ethereal bliss. I occasionally loved snuggling into his arms, his gentle pat of my back until……
One day, his hands lingered lower, brushing past my back to the ass, patting here rather. I edged up, feeling both hot sensations and awkwardness, but he pressed me down. I lifted my face to him but the smile on it pressed me down, willingly.
“Aren’t you my best friend? I like you a lot to play naughty with you. I hope that’s fine.”
I mumble a “yes.” The case when you want something but a small voice tells you it isn’t normal.
I hadn’t been so carefree with a girl before, talkless of a guy. When I returned home to see the first person whom I’d be playing with, supposed she accepted, my mind would cloud with a bit of hate, inciting me to ignore her.
And that’s when she started coming closer. It was too late, or maybe, it wasn’t, right?
I got the answer when she finished her little portion of the work and stepped before me by the door as I was about to visit Blake. She raised her doe eyes with a cute pout.
“I don’t have someone to play with. Can I come with you?”
I wanted to mumble a “No.” But a voice loomed behind me. “Coming to my side? Well, I decided to visit you today.” His eyes passed from me to her with a warm smile.
“She can tag along.”
Before that day I never knew she could smile so wide. Blake’s warm attitude crawled in a diverse type of love I never knew existed. It was almost natural yet mindblowing.
Blake and I played hide-and-seek at the garden, chess, even Truth or Dare.
On my turn, she dared us to do the most forbiddable thing. Kiss. Two guys kissing was almost like a taboo in Southlake Park, but probably we could be excused since it was a game.
“A minute.” She set the time. I was a bit reluctant but before I knew Blake had already jumped on me, cupped my face and set my lips, hormones and c**k ablaze with that single kiss. A minute extended to two and to three. He wouldn’t stop until the loud grumble and punching of Cady woke up from the formidable fantasy we had been sealed in.
Her eyes went dark with anger. “It’s a game!”
The details of which never left my mind till this day.
The kiss propelled Cady into getting clingy. She was hellbound to being my best friend. Her shy traits were gone and in place of that was the sweet, playful soup I’d always wanted from the beginning. Still, it never took the feeling I had for Blake away.
On an early morning bath by the lake which was a regular weekend routine, with both of us naked inside of the water, Blake grabbed my c**k, pulling me towards him and into a kiss.
My eyes spread wide open in shock and I was gasping for breath. “What just happened?” I muttered but he calmed me with a teasing smirk, stretching to my neck. His scent glued on my nose, seductive and intoxicating.
“Guess that girl is your best friend now, let’s step.”
“What do you mean?” I feigned a confused, wide-eye.
“I mean let’s be boyfriends.”
Silence took over the next couple of minutes, deafening in a total sense. Only the thumping of our hearts could be heard. His face was crimson red with the fear of rejection, mine with shyness. His hand was still on my c**k, rippling my hormones to chaos.
I gulped, pressing up a “Yes.”
And his lips came fully down on me, kissing me to cloud nine.
“Yayyyy, we’re officially boyfriends.” He exclaimed. I smiled quietly, with eerie ecstasy which was grazing me for the first time.
In public, we were male bestfriends, in private, kissing and cuddling buddies. We were still too young to dive into s*x. My affair with Blake didn’t stop me from giving time to Cady but I never saw her past the best friends zone.
Not even when she asked, “Will you love to be my boyfriend? I’m lonely at heart.” I just smiled and patted her back. I couldn’t give her an answer.
“Seems you aren’t interested in me or am I not beautiful enough?” She insisted another day.
“We’re still too young to date. We can in the future. For now…..” my words cut off, knowing the lie I was going to spill out but I couldn’t afford to tell her the truth. “I’m single. I’m not in a relationship with anyone or wishing to be.” I furrowed my brows, deepening my voice. I was serious to her.
Inside with Blake, we laughed over it merrily and soon his hand began to roam as usual, his lips setting on mine. We didn’t lock the door today, besides it wasn’t even in Blake’s room but the living room. Blake’s dad had travelled and left Blake to my care and my family.
We had all the time in the world and on a weekend, Selena had told us she wasn’t going to come for work. She had an emergency to tend to at home.
My spirit flew off when the door swung open quickly. My first thought was Denise. An unexpected return but turning slowly to meet was Cady. Eyes popping out of her balls. My eyes flew back on me and Blake. Our lips were locked and our hands were still inside each other’s panties.
“f**k!” I jumped up at the awakening, Blake rising after me.
“What are you doing here, Cady? Didn’t your mom say she won’t come today? What are you doing here?” I yelled.
Blake pressed a hand on my shoulder. “Relax.” Then strode to her. She shifted back with skeptical eyes, darkened with revenge and hatred. “He’s my boyfriend. Sorry we didn’t tell you this before now.”
The darkness in her eyes tripled. They lunged on me. “See what you’re doing and you still got the mind to yell at me? I’ll tell your family and his dad.”
My heart collapsed. The danger was imminent. Rejection. Abandonment. Being ostracized. I dropped to my knees. “No, please. I’m sorry for yelling at you.” Blake joined on his knees begging.
“It’s really sad you never told me,” she muttered but deep within I knew it was more than that. Envy and disapproval was her problem.
“What do you want? I will do anything you ask, just don’t ever tell anyone.” She accepted with a smile and at once a relaxing grin graced my lips.
“Don’t worry, I’ll think about what I want.”
Blake exhaled heavily.
I patiently waited for what she would request. Money. Gifts. Attention. I was from a rich family. I could give her any or all of the three.
“I want you to leave Blake permanently and date me, I’m perfect for you. I will become the best girlfriend and partner you'd ever have. Why leave a girl like me for a man.” And I saw her face, the irritated smirk, shrug and anger.
She was pissed. Her irritation was lunged on Blake.
“You guys will never be together.” She added.
It hurt more than a thousand swords pierced into me at once.
“Leave Blake?” I repeated, tears glistening in my eyes.
Her face twisted with a threat. “Or I will report you both. I don’t wanna see you both together. I’m jealous.” She clearly stated it. Rage boiled inside of me but I didn't want things escalating. I kept it under check.
“I’ve always wanted you, but I couldn’t just show it on time.” Her voice slacked with intense jealousy and desperation.
“No, I can’t leave him. But I’ll give you whatever you want.” I was firm.
“Which is leaving Blake.” She insisted.
“No! I can’t.”
She turned and stormed off.
I thought it was over, that it was a mere conflict only to wake up the next morning with Denis dragging Blake, brutally beaten to the door of our apartment, calling out to my parents aggressively. Cady disappeared but her mom came to work that day.
For the first time, Denis who had always been like a friendly second dad slapped and kicked me before my parents and they did nothing. They even joined in beating me up upon realizing what I did. Even when he didn’t mention the name of the person who told him, I knew it was Cady.
The next morning, Denis was already packing out of the neighborhood with Blake. The ultimate worst day of my life. Life turned black with no brim of white. The saddest part is I never got to say goodbye.
My parents then began to hate me so much, I was seen as an outcast. Cady, probably feeling guilty, stayed away for a very long time until my parents got into a fatal crash that ended their lives.
The extended family pounced on me, claiming their thoughts on me had caused that. They called me bad luck. All sorts of names and even kicked me out of the family home.
That’s when I met her again. She offered me accommodation with remorse. “I’m so sorry, I was driven by jealousy.” She had said but the pain hadn’t gotten away. If my parents had died because of me, then she was the cause.
The worst will be hearing something happened to Blake.
Even without it, forgiving her was totally out of my vocabulary.
All of the pain was bottled up inside, tinted with supposed love and romantic promises, while I waited for the day Blake and I would meet again. The day of my revenge on her.
Joining together, we’d exert our revenge. Blake and I.
That was the deal.
That day came and that's when she knew. I was pretty sure she clearly remembered.
Smiles.
She'd not seen anything. That was just the beginning.
Guess the time for that had approached and my Blake, now Damon, is calling on me to spend the holiday in his family home.
“I’ve got a surprise for you,” he told me.
