Chapter 6

1224 Words
Actually, Shawn initially thought that Leander Martinez was just another employee. He didn't expect that he was actually the Chairman of the Company and it would be difficult to meet him. But since he had already come all the way here, he was definitely not living until he can meet and talk to him. He didn't say anything more to the staff at the front desk, and instead walked to the resting area and took a seat, waiting for Mr. Leander Martinez to come down. Seeing that he refused to leave the two female employees started mocking him. "How shameless!" "Who the hell does he think he is? Did he really think that if he wait there, the Chairman would talk to him? Does he have noodles for brain? Chairman Martinez was a very busy person, and he would never pay attention to someone like him." "You're absolutely right! Does he think because he's beautiful like a woman the Chairman would notice him. As if? The Chairman could have any woman he wanted no need for sissy guy like him... Hmpp!" **** Mr. Julian Dwight went at the ground floor to settle some matters, and when he passed by the front desk one of the female staff called him. "Mr. Dwight, that poor and scrupulous man came by looking for Chairman Martinez. We've already told him that the Chairman will not meet him if he didn't have an appointment, but he’s so stubborn and refused to leave. He's been sitting there for two hours, and we're worried he's tarnishing the image of the Company by being here. Should we get someone to kick him out." And then she glanced at Shawn's direction, jealousy filling her eyes. Although he's clearly a man, only wearing ordinary clothes he still look pretty as a painting while sitting there. And everyone's eyes keep on glancing his way, be it a woman or man they couldn't help but admire him, and it upset her. "Someone is looking for Chairman Martinez." Julian looked at the resting area and saw Shawn. Then he froze for a moment. That man... Isn't he Shawn Thompson that the Chairman asked him to check? What was he doing here? Misunderstanding Mr. Dwight's sudden change of expression, the employee in the front desk thought that he was unhappy with Shawn's presence. And it give her more confidence. "I've never seen someone so shameless." Julian Dwight watched him for a few moments before he finally decided to approach him, while making a call. "Chairman, that Mr. Thompson is here at the office. He says he wanted to see you." The reply was cold and indifferent. "Mr. Thompson? Who?" "Shawn Thompson." "Him?" Leander was surprised. "Yes, Chairman, would you like to see him. I heard he's been waiting for 2 hours." There was a few seconds of silence. Then he gently said. "Bring him up." "Yes, Chairman." He hung up and stopped in front of Shawn. And then he politely called him, "Mr. Shawn Thompson?" Shawn looked up, and he saw a man suit staring down at him. He was caught off guard. "You are..." "I'm Chairman Leander Martinez' personal assistant. I heard you're looking for the Chairman." Shawn's eyes grew wide, he jumped from his seat and said, "I just need ten—no five minutes. Please let me talk to him, Sir. I won't take too much of his time. " Julian smiled and nodded his head. "The Chairman had agreed to met you. Mr. Thompson please come with me." **** As they watched Shawn enter the VIP elevator, the expression of the two staff changed drastically. "What's going on, aren't we supposed to chase him out?" "Sir Julian took him up? Could he really know the Chairman personally?" ***** One hour before, in Chairman Leander Martinez office. "Chairman, this is the information of the young man who was in your room last night." The Chairmen personal assistant, Julian Dwight, put the document on his desk before taking a step out politely. A man was sitting behind a black office desk. He was in a black shirt with a couple of buttons undone, exposing his toned, alluring chest. He was looking through the set of documents Julian had brought. Even though he's just reading, his perfect face still looks charming in every angle—his nose bridge, his tightly pursed lips, each features was incredibly charming. Julian Dwight glanced at his boss and couldn't help but swallowed a gulp. Even as a man he's occasionally stunned by his beauty. "Bro, you were looking for me?" the office door was pushed open and a man came in. The man was wearing a pink shirt, with his hair styled in trendy dreadlocks. On his left earlobe was a shimmering ear stud. His pleasant face displayed a hint of tension as if he worried about something. He just took a few steps upon entering before stopping in his tracks. He stood roughly five meters away from Leander's desk with his hands in front of him, almost like a child waiting for his punishment. "Bro, I'm in the wrong I shouldn't have done that last night. You can hit me, you can scold me, but please don't send me back to the old man." Leander looked up and sneered, "How daring of you! It would be so kind to simply scolded or hit you! It wouldn't even be enough if you died one hundred times over." "Bro, I've learned from my mistake. Please give me a chance!" King was starting to turn pale from fright. Walking towards Leander he suddenly knelt on the floor and wrapped his arms around Leander's thigh, crying. "Bro, I wouldn't do this again. Please be magnanimous and let me off this time..... M-moreover you didn't lost your first time last night..." Leander looked at him with disdain before kicking him aside. "You'd better make yourself clear about everything happened last night. Otherwise, I'll make sure you won't be able to walk out of here in your own two feet." King was now in shock as he keep on sobbing. But after a moment later, he wiped his tears and snot away, and started explaining everything. When he was done he looked at Leander with pitiful expression. "Bro, on account that the beautiful lady met a car accident last night, let me off this time. Promise I will never do something like this ever again." Leander's expression suddenly change, as strange emotions flashed pass his eyes. "A woman? And she met an accident last night?" "Yes, yes." King couldn't wait to be done with this. "Actually, she’s still in the hospital." Leander appears calm and composed, but a million things were running around his mind. Looking at King, he knew that he doesn't have the guts to lie to him. If the person they arranged for him had met an accident, then who was the man he's with last night? He frowned. King started crying again when he saw his stern expression. "Bro.. Bro.. I've explained myself. I swear, everything I said was the truth, I didn't said a single lie!" Leander looked at him coldly before saying, "Leave." King looked as if he's just scaped death. He hurriedly got up, bowing his head "Yes brother. I'll immediately leave now." and then he was gone. __________________________
