Chapter 13- Somebody Stabbed Me

I stood there, frozen like a statue, my heart pounding so hard it felt like it might burst right out of my chest.
My hands were clammy, my palms sweaty as I wiped them on my rough uniform, but it didn’t help.
Moon Goddess, I whispered in my mind, my lips moving silent, I know you don’t care about me.
But please, just this once, don’t let this be a trap.
What if this summon was punishment? What if my fate was already decided, and I was walking straight into it?
Suddenly, a sharp voice cut through the fog in my head.
“Are you by any chance deaf?” the head slave snapped, her tone cold as ice, her eyes narrowing at me.
I blinked fast, heat rushing to my face as I bowed my head low in shame.
