The late afternoon sun poured through the tall windows of the Logan estate as the house remained calm and quiet. I had just finished helping one of the maids organize a few things when sudden shouting erupted from the sitting room. The sharp voice of an unfamiliar woman echoed through the hall, breaking the peace. “You can’t keep ignoring me, Kael! I deserve better than this!” I froze in my spot, confusion and curiosity washing over me. Who was shouting? And why were they making such a scene? I quietly stepped closer to the hallway, hoping to catch a glimpse of what was happening without being noticed. In the sitting room, a woman stood, hands on her hips, yelling angrily at no one in particular. She was tall with long, bright red hair that tumbled down her back in loose curls. Her outfit was bold, to say the least—a skin-tight red dress that barely reached her thighs and heels so high they looked dangerous. Her makeup was dramatic, her lipstick a striking shade of red. She looked furious, pacing back and forth, throwing her arms up as she yelled. “How dare he ghost me like this? Who does he think he is? I’m not someone you can just toss aside!” I could hear a few maids whispering in the corner, clearly just as shocked by the scene as I was. “Who is she?” one whispered. “No idea,” another replied. “But she’s making a lot of noise.” The shouting didn’t stop. “I’ll make sure Kael sees me today, even if I have to burn this house down!” the woman shouted dramatically, flipping her hair over her shoulder. Suddenly, a door upstairs opened, and Mrs. Logan’s calm yet firm voice called out, “What is all this noise?” The room went silent for a moment as everyone turned to look at the elegant figure descending the staircase. Mrs. Logan wore a soft silk robe, her posture as graceful as ever, though her expression was one of clear disapproval. The red-haired woman didn’t seem fazed. Instead, she crossed her arms and stared at Mrs. Logan. “And who are you supposed to be?” the woman snapped. Mrs. Logan raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. “I should be asking you that. Who are you, and why are you shouting in my house?” The woman placed a hand on her hip, her chin lifting defiantly. “I’m Lisa. Kael’s girlfriend. And I’m here because your son has been ignoring me!” Mrs. Logan’s lips twitched into a mocking smile as she looked Lisa up and down. “My Kael? Girlfriend?” she repeated, as if the idea was too absurd to believe. Then, with a soft chuckle, she added, “So this is the kind of poor taste my son has?” Lisa’s eyes widened in disbelief, and her face flushed red with anger. “What did you just say?” she demanded, her voice rising. “I said,” Mrs. Logan replied calmly, her gaze sharp, “it seems my Kael has poor taste if this is the kind of woman he entertains.” Lisa’s fury boiled over. “How dare you!” she screeched, stepping forward. Before anyone could react, she raised her hand and slapped Mrs. Logan across the face. The sound of the slap echoed through the room, leaving everyone in stunned silence. For a moment, Mrs. Logan stood still, her cheek slightly pink from the blow. Her calm demeanor didn’t falter, though her eyes darkened with a quiet fury. Lisa, realizing what she had done, stepped back slightly but didn’t apologize. “You had no right to insult me like that!” she snapped. The maids sprang into action, rushing into the room. One of them, a sturdy woman named Maria, grabbed Lisa’s arm and spun her around to face her. “How dare you slap Mrs. Logan!” Maria shouted, her voice shaking with anger. Without hesitation, Maria raised her own hand and delivered a sharp slap to Lisa’s face, the force causing Lisa to stumble slightly in her heels. “You disrespectful fool!” Maria yelled. “Do you even know who she is? That’s Kael’s mother! The woman who owns this house!” Lisa’s hand flew to her cheek, her eyes wide with shock. “What? She’s his…?” Her voice trailed off as the realization sank in. “You slapped Kael’s mother,” Maria said, shaking her head in disbelief. “How stupid can you be?” The other maids nodded in agreement, their glares making Lisa shrink back. “I didn’t know!” Lisa protested, her voice losing some of its bravado. “She didn’t say she was his mother!” “It seems you were deaf when she called kael her son And what does that matter?” Maria shot back. “You come into someone’s house, dressed like this, shouting like a madwoman, and then you lay hands on our boss’s mother? You’ve got no respect!” Lisa’s face turned red with a mix of embarrassment and anger. “I didn’t mean—” “Save it,” Maria interrupted. “You’ve already shown who you are. A loud, disrespectful, classless woman.” Lisa opened her mouth to argue, but before she could say anything, the sound of the front door opening caught everyone’s attention. The room fell silent again as Kael stepped inside, his sharp features instantly taking in the scene before him. His piercing gaze swept over the disheveled Lisa, the furious maids, and finally landed on his mother, who was still standing calmly with a slight red mark on her cheek. “What is going on here?” Kael’s deep voice filled the room, his tone cold and demanding. Lisa turned to him, her face lighting up. “Kael! Finally! I’ve been trying to talk to you!” Kael’s eyes narrowed, his jaw tightening as he looked at her. “Lisa,” he said slowly, his voice laced with irritation. “What are you doing in my house?” Lisa took a step toward him, her expression pleading. “Kael, I had to come! You’ve been ignoring me, and I needed to see you! Don’t you understand how much I care about you?” Kael didn’t reply immediately. Instead, he glanced at his mother, his eyes softening slightly as he noticed the mark on her cheek. His expression darkened again as he turned back to Lisa. “You have one minute to explain yourself,” he said, his voice dangerously calm. Lisa looked panicked, her confident demeanor crumbling under Kael’s cold gaze. “I just… I just wanted to talk to you, Kael,” she said, her voice trembling slightly. “I didn’t mean for things to get out of hand.” Kael crossed his arms, waiting for her to continue, his face furious.
