Sophia stood quietly in her room, staring at the lavender dress on the bed. It was beautiful, a delicate shade of purple that seemed to shimmer in the light. She hadn’t expected Mrs. Logan to give her something so elegant. But then again, Mrs. Logan had always treated her kindly. It was a rare kindness that Sophia didn’t quite know how to accept.
