Abby’s POV
When Kat and Erin arrived, we went over what we needed to find out from Alea. Our biggest concern was whether she could be trusted. Everything else could wait. We decided Erin would go in first so as not to overwhelm her, and once we got her report, Kat and I would follow. Zebrik decided it was a good time to check on the twelve children being treated in the pediatric unit.
Erin had only been in the room for about twenty minutes when she linked me to give me the report. She started talking, and as I was listening to her voice, I felt a staticky zap in my mind—and her words started morphing into a vivid vision through my mind’s eye. When the vision began, I heard Erin gasp and go silent for a second.
