Lucian’s POV
“AMY….!”
My roar erupted like a raging storm, shook the earth beneath my feet and rattled the heavens above, breaking every window in its path. The Lycan had already taken over, surged through my veins, flooding every muscle, every bone, and every breath I took. To see my Luna getting carried like a broken doll with my very own eye is a greatest insult for me, the Lycan King!
I move forward, running so fast that I ripped through the air like a bullet tearing the wind apart. The surroundings blurred around me—trees, shadows, even the moonlight on the sky can’t keep up with my speed. The only clear vision is my target, the eyeless wolf that carries my Luna. In one final stride, I jumped, slamming my full force into that cursed eyeless wolf’s skull and smashing its head into the ground. I grabbed his head and dragged it mercilessly across the ground, scraping its face against dirn and stone as its blood painted the path behind us.
Before this damn eyeless wolf arise, my claws were already buried in its neck—strike repeatedly like a deadly rain of blades, crushing its bones and flesh. With his crippling body, or whatever remaining in its body, the damn wolf should be already dead. But I can sense it. The malicious magic that controlling his body and souls, driving this eyeless wolf into a machine that only serve whoever do the magic to them.
“Alpha! On the left…! And your right…!”
Theo warns echoes, alongside with my quick reflexes on my right and left hand, catches and grip each wolf fang that almost tore my neck. I banged the head of those eyeless wolf together until the sound of cracking split the night, then throw them down across the ground like discarded toys. Before any of them arise, I stamped each of their neck, crushing it until they had not chance left to survive or even escape.
Blood spilled, bone crushed, but I can feel the lycan still burned, not satisfied yet with the hunt. Those eyeless wolves surround me in every direction, but none of them have any courage to intervene my way toward Amara. Not yet. I can chase all of these stupid wolves, but my Luna is my first priority. I kneeled right in the front of Amara, my Luna, still unconscious with severe injury.
My instinct tingling, three eyeless wolf from the behind, two eyeless wolf from the front. I can sense their murderous intention, to crush both me and Amara at the same time. I threw myself over Amara, curling over her like a living shield—a protective dome made of flesh and will—as I guarded her with everything I had.
These eyeless wolves bastard pounced on me like starving beasts, claws ripped through my skin, fans bit deep into my shoulders and back, shredding me like prey. I feel muscle tear and warm blood run down my spine—yet my body remain unbroken. This level of damage is nowhere near enough to bring me down.
I grab the two wolves still tearing into my shoulders and slam their heads into the ground, crushing their skulls in an instant. The last three charging straight for my throat, but my fangs stuck them first, tearing open each of their necks with ruthless precision.
I took a breath for a while, throwing all those dead wolves away from Amara. My back and shoulders might be torn open, flesh ripped apart, but none of these matter compared with the sight of Amara collapsed on the ground, barely breathing, stabbed in the stomach. Just seeing her suffer like that made me feel like half of my strength vanished. Looking at my surrounding, I know damn well these eyeless wolves are still observing while hide in the bush, waiting for the right moment to continue.
“Alpha Lucian, sorry for late.”
Without seeing, I can sense their incoming from behind, Ethan, my Beta, alongside with Theo and some of my warriors come for the support. Theo’s breath feel heavy, considering his injuries and he run all his way through to reach me in here is bit reckless. I understand he’s being guilty for not succeeding protect Amara.
Ethan, on the other hand, already stained his both claw with blood of those eyeless wolves, murdered those bastards who’re attempting to ambush me from behind. His breath stable, his eyes sharp, just as I expected from my Beta.
“You damn brainless wolf can choose, either die silently with my hand, or die miserably in the hand of the Ruthless Alpha Lucian. Our Luna had been secured! Any step forward, then your death is certain!”
Such a boring conflict resolution from Ethan. To me personally, these moronic and brainless wolf should die and I’m willingful to eliminate each of them with my own hand, my own fang, my own claw.
“Alpha Lucian, I can understand your disappointment over my decision. But the Luna is our priority. We should heal her first.”
I shift my attention back to Amara. The deep wound in her abdomen made my blood run cold—and my killing urge come to a halt. I hate admitting it, but Ethan was right. Saving Amara came first.
“Alpha Lucian… I had failed you. Because of my negligence, our Luna fell into those cursed eyeless wolves. I have no excuse and ready to be punished.”
Theo suddenly kneeled with guilt on his silly face.
“Stop wasting your time kneeling at this time, dumb ass! Call the Shaman, secure the way, and let the recovery of Amara start right now before I take you down with my own hand!”, I growl, pushing Theo to accompany the Shaman for immediate rescue.
Shit. I want to carry Amara, holding her with my warm body, but with Lycan fully activated, my current claw size and its sharpness will eventually harm her weak body at this state. I took my breath, calming myself to release the heat of Lycan in my body, trying to dampen the power so I can carry my Luna with my hybrid form.
But it's damn difficult for me to calm myself. I rather go hunt those bastard, tearing each of their body apart, enjoying their scream of pain while they’re dying. Even to see Amara closed her eyes with a very slow breath made me angry, filled my heart with vengeance! There’s no way I can calm the lycan with these conditions!
