Chapter 6

906 Words
Steven’s POV Even though it happened a long time ago, I still can't get peace in my heart. Her eyes, they were practically identical to my Elena's. She just looked at me as if Elena was staring at me in one of my countless nightmares. 'Why! Elena, why? Why did you do this to me?' I had asked her countless times in my nightmares, but she never answers me back. The truth is, after the accident, I started to investigate Elena and Jone in detail, they were smart enough to delete all their chats, phone calls, text messages, social media, and even emails, but I couldn't find any trace of them. The car recorder in the car was also destroyed just then. Just when I went to the bank to cancel Elena's bank card, the bank staff was absent to inform me that she didn't have any balance in her card. Yes, Elena had transferred all the savings in her name to Jone before the accident. to be precise, it was all the funds that I had transferred to Elena as Elena had not worked a single day since she married me. Yes, the woman I once loved so much, the woman I would give my life for, has been counting my assets. Maybe I really should have listened to my parents in the first place. Did she ever love me? Did she and Jone get together after we got married? Or was it a conspiracy from the start, and they laid it out from the beginning? I didn't even dare to think about it further. Six years of love, was it all a huge conspiracy? What's even more frightening is the child that never had a chance to come into the world, the child I fought for day and night, is he really my child? Or is he a bastard from Elena and Jone's relationship? What's real and what's not? Who else can I trust? 'Sir.' Leon's call brought me back from my memories. 'Forgive me for asking, but why didn't you just sleep with her, like any other master who buys a slave?' 'I was too tired to be in the mood today.' I coped. But that wasn't the truth. The first time I saw this girl on deck was when I thought my chance had come. That w***e, the woman I once loved so much and now hated with a passion, was no longer alive. But now, God had given me a second chance to meet this girl who looked almost exactly like Elena, and better yet, as a slave to be auctioned off, I could easily buy her and treat her like that w***e with abandon, I could take out all the anger that had been pent up in me, ravaging her, abusing her, and even if I wanted to I could just end up with the name. Oh what an exciting thing that would be. But as I sat by her bedside and looked at her frail, pale face, I felt that she and Elena were completely different. I had always provided Elena with a life of fine clothes, and her face was always so vibrant and full of life; Elena liked to spend a lot of money on taking care of her face, and she was so in love with make-up that it was rare for me to see her without it. But the girl in front of me was wearing a simple, pure white dress, and her face was so innocent, like a pure white dove. I couldn't help but reach out and touch her skin, only to wake her up. I saw her eyes widen in horror as she looked up at me with such innocence, like a frightened deer. I don't think I've ever seen such an expression on Elena's face. No, I don't think I could. This girl has already suffered so much, why would I want to perpetuate her pain? Is it just because she looks like Elena? But didn't God give me the opportunity to vent my hatred when he let me meet her and buy her? The inner turmoil was killing me and I thought it would be best if I didn't stay here, so I left her room in a hurry. 'Sir, Antonio has just sent a call inviting you and your slave to join us for dinner tonight.' Leon said to me as he put the phone down. Ah, the dinner party, I'd almost forgotten. Although I had never attended one of Antonio's auctions, I knew that on the second night after each auction, all the slaves who had been bought and their masters were invited to a dinner party. After a night of ravishment, some of the girls may have been tortured beyond recognition. Their masters, on the other hand, would show off their prowess during the dinner by displaying all the scars on their slaves to the others. These assholes. I couldn't help but frown at the thought. 'Leon, why don't you take Jade to get cleaned up later and take her to the dinner site, I have some things to take care of and I'll see you in the ballroom tonight.' I think I need a little more time now to think about what I'm going to do with this girl. Letting Leon take her there should be the best option. ''No problem sir, I'll see you tonight then.''
