Violet stopped in front of Constance's door and listened as a baby wailed through the thick door of the condo. Though she had made plans to speak with Constance about her paper for school that day, she still felt like an intruder. Hesitating briefly, she knocked on the door and waited for thirty seconds as the sounds of newborn cries came closer. A harried Constance opened it.
