Never ending cries

Nick POV

I've been spending the past 5 months with my sister, after school like I am now she just gurgles and smiles when I play with her, "He looks so beautiful playing with her, so cute" I hear someone whisper.

She's been a healthy girl always sleeping or crying but that's alright, she's the cutest. I know I'm obsessed with her cuteness, mum had to even pry her off of me, and I just want to cuddle her all day.

"Nick it's time for her to feed" I groan and grumble inappropriate words "Fine, just one more cuddle before I give her to you, plllleeeeeaaasssseee" I ask giving him the puppy dog look.

He smile and nods before walking off, I cuddle my sister to my chest and kiss her forehead lightly, rocking her gently in my arms I hum a all to familiar foreign song.

She gurgles again making me smile at her cuteness. I stand up and go into the kitchen to hand her over to mum when.

"What do you mean they want him dead" mum whispered worriedly "Yea, I tried negotiating with them but they said, no he has to die we can't let that happen over my dead body" dad says angrily.

Deciding to make my appearance I walk through the door and ask "Mum, Dad what you talking about?" I handed mum Anaya and leaned on one of the counters, mum and dad look at each other than me, "We'll...um..tell you after I finish feeding Anaya,ok" "yea."

After mum fed Anaya and put her to bed he came back down stairs, he sat down and patted the seat next to him, I walk over to sit next to him, "Well as you know you have an important spirit," I nod "well because you killed three vampires with your magic the council wants you dead, but you can't die, I won't let them-" "Over our dead bodies" dad finished off.

Then through the baby monitor I heard it the never ending cries of my baby sister Anaya, then it went silent "Mum I think something is wrong with Anaya" I say standing up only to hear the crash of something and a string of curses.

Mum and dad stiffen, mum whispered "Follow me" following mum to the basement and into a secret passage way, the door closed behind us, we ran down the narrow corridor to see a room we quickly made our way there and sat down in the seats heart beating fast, waiting that's till we heard feet walking around and about us, "Oi, John their not here I'm telling you they could have gone to the shops or something knowing that little s**t upstairs is sleeping" a gruff voice says "Okay well come here about 9:00pm tomorrow ok" I heard grunts as replays and they left.

We waited for half an hour before leaving the secret passage way, I run up the stairs to check on Anaya to see that she is ok. I breathe a sigh of relief, then the never ending cried started up again and I smile walking forward to look after my baby sister, man this night turned out to be one hell of a scary night.
