Chapter 11 – Fort-De-France MURPH TAXIED FOR WHAT seemed like an eternity. It was hotter than hell itself and the sun baked everything under the windshield. Ahead and to the left, Cole watched intently as a massive airliner lumbered up into the sky and disappeared into a scattered layer of clouds. Even over the two engines of Murph’s plane, Cole could hear the jet roaring up and away. After a few minutes more, the air conditioning was finally blowing cool air into the cockpit, and Cole could feel the temperature dropping. Murph continued on at a steady clip down the taxiway.
