For Hans, this was a test of his abilities, and also an explanation to his family. As one of the most outstanding descendants of the vampire clan in this generation, being able to represent the family in this mission, regardless of the mission's success or failure, was an affirmation of his abilities by the family. Therefore, today I must overcome the difficulties before me, defeat the enemy before me, and complete the task entrusted to me by my family.
Under the hazy moonlight, the catwoman, the werewolf, and the vampire remained locked in a stalemate, the scene eerily calm. But like the calm before a storm, this tranquility could be swallowed up at any moment by lightning and towering waves.
The Assamite are fearsome assassins from the Far East. Of all vampires, the Assamite family is the most infamous, as they also provide assassination services to other vampires, acting as professional killers. Some vampires believe that the Assamite family acts according to the instructions of an ancient power, perhaps preparing for the final holy war.
Their clan also possesses a secret racial talent: Burst, which involves burning a large amount of their life essence in a short period, instantly enhancing their various abilities, but followed by significant fatigue.
Hans Assamite is a prime member of this family. A few days ago, the family decided to accept a mission to assassinate the most powerful vampire in history, the successor of Van Nicholas, known as the Arbitrator, Wanxiang Nicholas Qi.
Completing the mission will earn the family recognition from several other families, and Wanxiang Nicholas Qi's blood will become their spoils. The family has conducted a rigorous selection process for this mission. First, the number of assassins couldn't be too large, nor could their strength be too great, to avoid suppression from domestic forces in the United States or other families taking advantage of the situation and causing unnecessary trouble for the family.
Finally, after a series of selections, the Assamatt family chose Hans Assamatt to carry out this mission. This mission was undoubtedly of great importance to both the family and Hans.
Hans was immersed in the hardships and misfortunes he had encountered growing up after losing his parents at a young age. If the assassination succeeded, he would have a place in the family and the noble and elegant life befitting a vampire. And, most importantly, what surprises would it bring if he didn't hand over the new Arbitrator's blood to the family but chose to consume it himself? Although the family had repeatedly emphasized the danger of consuming this blood before departure, danger often means opportunity. If he successfully killed Wanxiang Nicholas Qi, he would immediately consume his blood.
Hans, contemplating the potential benefits of absorbing Alex Qi's blood—such as ruling his family, or even the entire thirteen vampire clans—was momentarily distracted. This small opening was seized upon by his opponent.
A white shadow lunged at him. All Hans saw were a pair of enormous wolf claws and a gaping maw revealing gleaming white teeth. If those claws landed squarely, or if he were struck by that maw, Hans was certain his already incompletely healed injury would reopen.
Awakening from his reverie, Hans saw the scene before him and knew he couldn't afford to fight back. Otherwise, the owner of the agile figure who had attacked from his left wouldn't hesitate to cripple his still-injured left arm.
Hans, a seasoned veteran, observed the coordinated pounce and flanking maneuver. After a moment's thought, he decisively retreated, simultaneously throwing his dagger to his left. Even if it didn't hit her, it would effectively slow her down.
Faced with this unfavorable two-on-one situation, Hans retreated while simultaneously calculating his options. It seemed the only way to turn the tide was to defeat them one by one. Therefore, his immediate priority was to concentrate his efforts on crippling one before focusing on the other.
The rapidly moving catwoman on the left was clearly not a good first target. With her speed, even faster than a werewolf, it would be difficult to severely injure her in one blow. The werewolf was relatively slower, but even a werewolf wasn't someone he could easily catch. It seemed he had to use his best skills, or he would be outmaneuvered by the two's coordinated attacks.
Thinking this, Hans saw an opportunity. As his thrown dagger rapidly approached the catwoman, she slowed down to dodge it. The white wolf, having missed its target, landed on the ground. Its brief pause before it could lunge again presented Hans with its opportunity.
Hans abruptly stopped, then pounced on the werewolf, a cloud of blood mist erupting from his body. "Ugh... Ah..." A piercing scream echoed through the quiet night, followed by a surge of dark elemental energy into Hans's body.
From stopping his retreat, to counterattacking, to the eruption of blood mist, and the influx of dark elemental energy, Hans never ceased his attack on Jack the White Wolf. In fact, the instant the dark elemental energy entered his body, his speed increased dramatically.
Before Jack could even react, Hans was already beside him, throwing a punch at his head. Jack barely dodged the blow, but a powerful force struck his abdomen, sending him flying through the air.
"Did he get a shot of adrenaline?" Jack only had time for this bizarre thought before his body crashed heavily onto the grass. Enduring excruciating pain, he tried to get up. Hans appeared beside him, followed by a barrage of punches and kicks, culminating in his body being kicked into the first-floor window of the villa.
With a crash, the first-floor window shattered upon impact with the flying werewolf Jack's body. He then crashed heavily onto the first-floor floor with a thud, covered in blood, surrounded by shards of glass.
While Jack was being attacked by Hans, Linda, the catwoman, had dodged her dagger and desperately chased after him, trying to disrupt his attack rhythm. Unfortunately, her current speed was no match for Hans's "burst of power."
The moment werewolf Jack crashed into the first-floor window, Linda turned and ran. She didn't do this out of fear of death, but because she knew that Hans would now deal with her, no longer caring for the severely injured Jack.
