South Los Angeles was once a hot development area, but for unknown reasons, development was halted, causing a drop in property prices. Now, however, it has become a haven for the wealthy and a paradise for fitness and sports.

To the right of the main entrance of the teaching building stands a vertical wooden plaque with four large characters written on it in a flamboyant style: "Shengjing University".
