Aurora loved family weekends at the cabin. At twenty-two, she was flirty and adventurous with a bright smile.
Her older brother’s best friend, Kael, always came along. Kael was thirty, brooding, heavily tattooed, and muscular. He had ignored Aurora for years, but the tension between them kept growing.
One night, everyone went to sleep. Aurora’s brother snored loudly in the next room. Aurora couldn’t sleep. She went to the kitchen for water. Kael was already there, shirtless in low sweatpants. The dim light from the fridge showed his tattooed chest and arms. His sweatpants hung low on his hips.
“You should go back to bed,” he said, voice rough.
