As I was lost in my thoughts, I suddenly heard Brandon's voice on the other end of the phone. "Why are you suddenly silent?" he asked. His tone was lighthearted, but I could sense a hint of concern in his voice. "You have to speak up, you know. I can't read your mind if you're not by my side," he joked, trying to lighten the mood. His words made me smile, and I felt reassured knowing he was there for me.
