I don’t remember getting out of the bath. At some point, the heat and exhaustion must’ve dragged me under because the next thing I know, I’m blinking awake in complete darkness. For one disoriented second, panic hits hard and fast. Unknown room. Unknown house. Then the memories come crashing back. Ronan. Mercer. Lodge. Ghost. I exhale shakily and sit up too fast, immediately regretting it when dizziness rolls through me. My skin is pruned from the bath, the water now lukewarm around me. “Great,” I mutter.
